    The Younger Generation and E-Bikes

Perhaps trendy is the wrong word but they are naturally more image conscience than someone like myself who is long past caring. It was just so nice to see their enthusiasm.

    The Younger Generation and E-Bikes

I don't really know why but I have always had it in mind that 17, 18 year olds would have no interest in E-bikes. Well, a trip into Halfords with my pedelec opened my eyes. Popped in, taking my bike with me. No sooner had I got to the desk, several staff arrived. All youngsters and all...

    Bosh Dongle

Gave up the idea of making some sort of dongle. Ordered one from the interweb. Works well but only cuts in a 19mph. No use at all into a head wind as I cannot reach 19 mph. Any ideas? Have emailed makers and await response. My only doubt is the polarity of the connection, Both wires were...

Having tried twice now to contact the forum administrators re my thread title always defaulting to Bosch Crank DIY on most posts. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I would think the forum admin could answer me but seems not. If I can get no answer, please excuse most of...

    No more Jeremy?

Rob, I'll not be loosing any sleep. Just happen to think that he added more intelligence to this forum than someone such as yourself and your dim witted comment. I wish him well.

    No more Jeremy?

Well I didn't contribute on many of his topics but he clearly knows more than a few useful things. Jeremy if you are still watching this forum, some of us would like to see you posting again.

    Best Looking E-bikes!

Inverted you gain around 30mm clearance. Clearance is then limited to frame and chain wheel. Does look better but what happens to the frame if you ground out on a rock?

    Hello from london

Coping fine. Nice ride today and did pop into the pub. Luckily they were out of Lemsip and as such I was forced to resort to two pints of lager.

    Rims & tyres - again !

flecc, thanks. Did not know that these existed. A compromise on design that I had been searching for. Just ordered a couple from Evans, hopefully they will perform well both on road and dry trails.

    Which saddle do you use?

Never stick with the supplied saddles. Sounds odd but over the years I have learnt the exact profile to suit my behind. Wide, flat topped racing saddle with minimal padding suits me. Others find generously padded gel suits. Each to their own.

    Bosch Crank DIY

Thanks, switches it will be. I'll investigate the A123 cells, depends on cash flow at the time but the idea would be the lightest possible.

    Bosch Crank DIY

Dave, thanks would almost certainly fit but i suspect a bit heavy. Frank, your type looks as if I could mod the bottom bracket to give the required height. Do you have a link for the black version?

    Bosch Crank DIY

I am struggling to find a decent rear rack that will fit my KTM 29er. Have tried several from the local bike shop and halfords, these being intended for 700c bikes. All sit too low to the type. Have picked up a seat post mounted version, will work but sits very high. Anyone have any...

    Bosch Crank DIY

Thanks to both of you, most useful information. I'll take on board comments and a good look at all options. Had not really considered the maximum current requirements not being met by smaller batteries. Trying to, design a system to keep the weight to the minimum possible, even if ultimate...

Admitting the truth-nothing to be ashamed of.

I really hope this is not the case. Personally, I'd be happy if both myself and e-bike were completely invisible when out and about. These days I ride, mostly alone to get away from it all. Just want to spend time with my own thoughts. Thats not to say that I would not like to meet other...

    Tow Path Trip

Thanks, we are looking at all possible routes, just remains for us to get together and make a decision. Take on board your comment on surfaces. Both bikes are ATB in design and should cope well. Once the route is planned, we'll use Google Earth and check out the paths from end to end. Not...
