    Dogs again

The centre of the cycle lane is around 2 metre from the road. It is the quietest section of the entire lane and a spot where I turn my motor off and blast my lungs back home. The norm is that a car or van door may open and perso/s get out next to the cycle lane. Some step into the lane but...

    Dogs again

I feel very lucky that out of my 12 mile commute, almost all is on cycle lanes and private roads and paths. Means minimal traffic filtering. What does strike me as odd is why there are what seem to be homeless shelters right next the paths, steel posts in middle of the paths. Bus stops that...

    Dogs again

Tillson Quote: More importantly / interesting, if it were possible to re-create the exact same circumstances which you encountered 100 times with 100 different riders, I wonder how many of the 100 would fall victim to the dog? I wonder. Hazard perception varies greatly between individuals and...

    Dogs again

No idea, it was gone by the time I had got to my feet. Didn't see it again. Someone said it had ran off through the traffic. Hopefully it lives on.

    Dogs again

Riding back from work this evening on an empty section of cycle lane on Brighton seafront. 20 mph with tail wind and electrics switched off. At the very moment passed a parked camper the owners dog leapt from the camper door straight under my front wheel. I did not even know that the camper...

    Fiamma bike carriers

Tom, I agree a more sturdy version is required. I have the standard one, it works but wil a fair amount of flex. Mine is fitted to the rear door of my Fiat based camper. Not sure if the rack or the door will fail first.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Eddie, your ongoing BH problems make my odd little glitch seem insignificant. Seriously glad I didn't get a BH on day one. I hope at some point in the not too distant future that you end up with your KTM or something equally as good.

    considering an e bike

Richard, good evening. I guess the first couple of questions would be. Do you want to get fit or are you happy with an ebike that does most of the work for you? Have you a budget in mind? You can spend £500 to 5 or 6k.

Bosch battery problem. Is me or the bike?

My KTM catch could be pushed, perhaps 1 or 2mm and definitely required a key. The haibike lock catch can be easily pushed completely back in its housing, it definitely does not require a key when fitting the battery. Either way, once fitted and latched in the battery will be secure, assuming...

Bosch battery problem. Is me or the bike?

My KTM required the key, my Haibike does not. Gen1 motor and battery. Take the battery out, if the catch can be pushed by hand you do not need the key to fit the battery. Despite any instructions, Bosch produced both types of catches.

Haibike SL29 pedals spinning no chain movement

I've done the South Downs Way in pieces in the past on a regular bike. Some big battery sapping climbs. How do you plan to mae the batteries last? Not sure a midway charge would suffice. If I am around, it would be a great trip.

Haibike SL29 pedals spinning no chain movement

Tim Are you the guy I spoke to on the seafront cycle lane in Hove the other month? Think a puncture was the order of the day. I was heading west on my RC29.

Haibike SL29 pedals spinning no chain movement

Eddie, thanks. Things can sometimes be a little trying. Martin may well lend me something. To be fair, I did not mention the requirement for some sort of loan at the time. I left it that I would get back to him should it happen again. In my case, it has not. I always thought worse case...

Haibike SL29 pedals spinning no chain movement

Tim Happened to mine about 6 weeks ago off road on the IOW. I was miles from anywhere. My solution at the time was to hit the crank with a brick. Not a reccomended method but I cannot physically walk many miles home pushing a bike. The shock had it working again and it has not happened since...

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night

Kinega Replaced with Haibike RC29. The main reason being the inverted motor, great for winter off road use. The KTM was a brilliant bike but the motor swung the decision. Aside from the motor, the Haibike has derailleur and not hub gears. A such, more torque is programmed into the Bosch...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Hi Tim I'm based in Brighton, maybe a few of us could get together in the not so distant future. Not sure what to make of the video. I assume that was the illegal rave at the dyke. A bunch of people who came to enjoy the countryside location but could not give a fk about the mess and damage...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Eddie, great to hear you. have your battery back. To think that I first looked and test rode BH bikes. 7 days would be unacceptable to me. As for the news, no I had not heard but won't be going to Friston anytime soon. Reminds me of my whitewater kayaking days in Wales many years ago. The...

KTM Macina 29 stolen last night
