Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

Just to be clear; does the Brompton wheel require any fork widening modification?

    Beer

Batham's Brewery in the Black Country serve up the most fantastic bitter. Holden's, also of the Black Country, are also very good. In Warwick, my local has a microbrewery - The WIld Boar. My preference is for dark, rich winter warmers, so it's my time of year.

Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

Does that price include a Brompton conversion kit? And how likely is the April 2018 delivery date?

    Commuter bike

Just seen this and thought I'd add my ha'p'orth: I find the Oxygen system useful. Most of the time I'm in Eco mode, usually on power level 5 or 6 and that suits me fine. If I'm on bridleways or towpaths, I'll rein things in to level 3 or 4. However, if I've been out of the saddle a while - as I...

    Presta valves

I just fitted a Continental tube to my Oxygen when swapping over to Ice Spiker tyres and that had a threaded Schrader valve. Not seen that before.

    Presta valves

I don't mind them, as it's quite easy to fit the track pump head onto them. Schrader valves are a bit fiddlier to do so. They also have the advantage of being screwed on whereas Schraders aren't.

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

This is a university that is well served by buses arriving every few seconds. There are cyclepaths from all directions and lots of bike parking, not to mention showers and a bike purchase assistance scheme. Yet, people still prefer to sit in their tin boxes.

Oxygen S Cross MTB - First Major(?) Problem

Power would come on and off during a ride. This got progressively worse as time went on. It was better after things were 'fixed', but the problem kept returning. Eventually, the bike cut out half way through my commute. That was when I decided enough was enough and I fixed it myself.

Oxygen S Cross MTB - First Major(?) Problem

Whilst the set up is different, those terminals look similar to my eMate's. First Oxygen replaced the male ones with shiny gold-coloured ones. That worked for a short while. Then the female ones were replaced and that worked - for a while. Then it went tits-up a third time & I decided enough was...

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

I work at a University, so no company cars. The people I saw on my journey are almost all just lazy people who can't be arsed to use public transport and would rather sit in queues than exert themselves.

Oxygen S Cross MTB - First Major(?) Problem

On my eMate's battery, the issue was the female connectors on the battery kept receding into the housing. Does yours have a similar set up? Oxygen tried twice (& not very well!) to fix it, but in the end I gave up and bypassed their connectors with a Tamiya connector that seems to be coping...

^ :) My wife has been ill and in hospital until last Wednesday. As a result, I have been running round like a blue-arsed fly doing school runs and taxiing duties of an evening. She's recovering slowly, but it's a slow process. What irks me is the morning commute. How can people do that same...

Electric mountain bike for a grand?

I have the previous generation Oxygen MTB and it's very good. I had power connection issues that I resolved myself, but those shouldn't happen witht he current version, as its battery is half sunk into the frame. Other than that, it's served me well for c.3000 miles in a year. I've done some...

    Dawes Galaxy suggestions . . .

Hello Rob! Didn't look at the name! Panda offer batteries as well as kits. Specify the right connectors and BGA's battery will slot right onto the kit you choose. All I did was take a photo of the kit's controller connectors and BGA fitted those to the cables. You'll get more AH for the buck...

    Dawes Galaxy suggestions . . .

I've recently converted an Orbit to a FWD set up using a Panda Pro kit. Back then it was £200, but more now as it was on special offer. Its connectors are very easy to set up and fit. One minor criticism is the quality of the controller housing. It seemed rather porous and brittle to me, so I...

Bike suggestions for a couple of chunky gents :-)

I think the extra expense would be justified. Wisper do make a cheaper version of the bike without the torque activated feature; the SE, I think it's called. http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/electric-bikes/wisper-705se-stealth-black-electric-bike £1300 with a 16ah battery or £1170 if you...

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

Today I have done some minor fettling. On the Orbit, I started off by checking the alignment of the yellow markers on the Alfine hub, as I suspected misalignment. But no, perfectly aligned. That meant it was a combination of a dodgy chain tensioner & a chain two links too long. I removed the...
