Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

Fortunately, I don't generally ride much on the road. But we've also had our moments and near misses.

Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

Fixed that for you. :) I suppose that it could also be argued that if you have enough time and forethought to sound your electronic horn, and shout a warning of your approach, then you could have equally enough time to stop. Or, at least slow down sufficiently enough to not knock the both of...

    Can anybody recommend a kickstand

I use these on a couple of my bikes. They do the job. :) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Duty-Adjustable-Mountain-Bike-Bicycle-Cycle-Prop-Side-Rear-Kick-Stand-UK/232426872136?hash=item361db89d48:m:mhEBOUfKDRJJH5H2EKiXQhA&frcectupt=true

Which? review of ebikes this month

Agreed. I saw another 3 whilst walking my dog a few days ago. Until now, a bike has been a bike and no-one was looking too closely..

    Orbea Gain in the rain

As silly as it might at first seem, clingfilm is your friend. :) It's inexpensive, waterproof, light, long, transparent, and flexibly wraps around batteries and connectors, cameras, and LCD panels to keep them as dry as you can under the circumstances. I always carry a ball of it in my...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

I agree. I wrote this statement a while back, in response to a debate on a regular bike forum. I also said that ebikes were safer. "An important point for consideration is that ebikes in general actually bring about many safety advantages due to their differing riding style when compared to...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

That pothole must have been the size of a water buffalo and, more than likely, easily avoidable on a bike doing 20 mph. But, probably not at 63 mph.

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

Jesus H. Christ! In that case, you'd better make that 43 mph faster. How on earth are they not breaking the law? o_O

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

In my opinion, there's more of a case for banning mobile phones being used by pedestrians (and cyclists). Or for fining their use whilst walking or riding along. As you would with a car driver. Having a peaceful, safe bike ride was a nightmare when they decided to infect our local country park...

In that case you may as well equate going over the cutoff with murder. Let's keep it to just speeding shall we? Yes I can. It's around 20 mph faster than I am. :p

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

The speed cutoff is 15.5 mph. Adjusting that cutoff can hardly be equated with drink driving. Do I speed in my car? Yes, when it's safe to do so. But not by a lot. Like most, I'll cruise at 80 on the motorway. My bike can reach 18.5 mph on the motor, when it's safe to do so. I'm still...

You've lost me there? 'Bradley' is a he. Although, I'm not sure that you can say that nowadays. :) Yes, he was on an ebike. What makes you ask?
