    Wet or dry lube?

I use dry lube in summer and wet in winter, they work for me. Dry lube definitely keeps chain clean on dusty trails. Does need regular top up but no need to degrease chain all summer.

Grease for a Bosch CX Motor

About you can do is avoid spraying water into bearings when cleaning bike. Service drive side bearing seal regularly. More MTBing you do more it needs servicing. See attached parts list for grease and spare seals. Will also need spider tool to remove chainring guard also in list. Watch video

Why Isn't Cycling Normal in London?

Most likely due to traffic going so slow.

    Decisions decisions...

Of factory middrives Shimano STEPS or Bosch new ActiveLine Plus, these are direct drive motors so no resistance when pedalling unassisted. Hybrids running 700c tyres most in 38-45 width range, will give good compromise between comfort and low rolling resistance. These bike typically have...

Clicky, grindy noise in low gears

My bike made noise when climbing in high power mode, thought it was motor. Turned out high torque twists wheel slight causing it to rub against mudguard. Easy fix (adjusted mudguard) once shopped figured out cause. Problem likely to be different in your case but twisting of wheel might be part...

I'm looking for trekking saddle, Selle Royal Respiro Moderate has good reviews, anybody else had experience with this saddle. Also considering Brooks but very expensive.

    Help me with my brakes

I've just setup one set of HS11s, not as simple as Magura video makes it out. But that could've been for HS33. If their reputation is anything to go by that should be it for a few years with occasional new pads (2minute job) and adjust screw in hand piece occasionally. I'd say they have...

    Shaft drive Ebikes?

The Alfine was designed for road use, never intended for MTBing. I don't think any of the IGH were designed to be driven by electric motor. Because some are more over engineered than others they get away with it.

    Any opinions on Trek ebikes?

There are no hills in Netherlands so brakes are only used for stop start riding, not long descents which will cook them.

Need electric bike to help with Ubereats

The 24V motor on these is used in local school ebike build competition. NZD400 for motor, controller and 2 x 12V18AH gelcell batteries so spares are real cheap. At $200 it is excellent buy especially if it does what you need.

    Shaft drive Ebikes?

A middrive with IGH and enclosed chainguard is very close to maintenance free. All benefits of chain without regular cleaning. With bosch eMTBs especially when riding in muddy conditions, the drive train has to been in good condition if you want to avoid chain suck. No running chains and...

Bosch CX fitted to Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPA - Which removal tool for sprocket?

Did you remove and regrease seal around drive bearing, see seal kit on my parts list. If you don't service seal the main bearing will die especially if doing lot of MTBing. Replace chainring (€8) with chain(€25), your chain will last longer and you'll avoid dreaded chainsuck. If you get jammed...

    Whyte Coniston Ladies-Shimano Steps System.

The STEPs is great drive, 5000kms on wife's which we've just changed to Bosch Gen2 activeline (small chainring). The change was more about better spec bike plus I've Bosch drive so we can swap batteries. The STEPs is definitely quicker and better climber, about 10-20% faster than Activeline. On...
