    Best range build...

Takes lot less energy to assist a 30kg kid up hill compared to 90kg man. You should be able use a smaller battery and motor. Go for 2 small batteries with you carrying spare will keep weight down while still giving range. Keeping bike light is critical, just imagine manhandling a bike that...

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

Powerpack gives more options for sharing between different bikes and is lot easier to carry spare in backpack. Powertube allows for bottle cage on FS eMTB, one less thing to carry on you back.

    Wisper 905se Nearly a Year and a 1000miles Review.

On the road Bosch CX drive will climb most hills with ease at 15-25kmh. Its a very steep hill that has me working at 15kmh or falling below this speed. Off road on seriously steep firebreaks climbing ability is more case of keeping front wheel on ground that lack of power, in these cases speed...

Recommend a tiny pump with gauge?

I have similar Leyzne, no problems so far. Compact while still reasonably quick to inflate stand MTB tyre to rideable pressure. Which every pump you buy, make sure it has hose. Lot easier to use and takes physical load of valve.

    Gears

300% 8spd Nexus or 9spd cassette (11-34t), with middrive is all you need for road riding and commuting. Problem is lot bikes come with too high a gearing. My wifes bike with Activeline and Nexus 8spd was geared so at 15mph cutoff she was in 5th. I've now lowered gearing so its 6th, resulting in...

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

Bosch say their motors aren't serviceable. But bosch sell "service kit seals and grease kits" for performance line, CX and older activeline motors. If main bearing goes within 2yrs due to water ingress you are covered by warranty. Outside that its service replacement motor from bosch for £££...

Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Hub Gears

Shimano new nexus 5spd with a 60nm motor (bosch performance or shimano e7000) would be perfect combination. Has less gear range compared to nexus 8spd, 260 vs 305% but more powerful 60nm motor would make up difference on steep hills.

Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Hub Gears

Removing rear wheel with IGH is not as simple, ask shop to show you how or watch youtube videos. Do it at least once at home, be careful of display and control buttons when resting bike upside down on handle bars. I use block wood under handle bars to keep buttons off ground. Will need pliers...

Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Hub Gears

Higher than 2.0 is Ok, lower isn't. Wifes bike came with 19:45 = 2.5. If Gen2 Bosch motor with small chainring then multiple by 2.5 first. Eg 18t chainring = 45. I replaced the 18T chainring with 16T to give 19:40 =2.1. Alternatively could fitted larger rear spocket eg 22T but that would've...

Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Hub Gears

The 8spd nexus hub has able range of gears, with 15mph cutoff you will find 7th and 8th only used downhill when exceeding 15mph. If you need a slightly lower 1st for very steeps its possible to fit large hub sprocket or small crank chain ring. Need to stay within Nexus recommend 2.0-2.1...

    Bosch chargers

Bosch have just released 6A charger. Ideal for quick topup over lunch. Where time isn't an issue, its best to use your slower 2A charger as its better for battery.

Full suspension touring bike with panniers and mud guards

I've kept it to 11kg, but might worth try with both rails fitted and using 2 panniers. Only occasionally need these loads for a commute. If I was touring would use front handle bar bag and spread the weight around..
