What counts towards a charge cycle

Is there any possibility of the battery leaking charge back to the charger if it is turned off via a timer switch? I have some other battery powered equipment whereby the battery will run down again if it is left connected to the charger when the charger is switched off at the wall.

Maximum commute range & extra battery?

That's really interesting - I was thinking of suggesting that to Flecc in this thread: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=5&page=5 as I'd done the same on my previous electric bike, although I went for a bigger chainwheel at the front so I could cruise at a higher speed without...

How often do you clean your bike ?

I usually try and give the bike a thorough clean on a Sunday (kids permitting!) , some more lube on the chain etc. (Flecc - did you find a solution to your problem in AtoB 56 ?) If it has rained heavily I usually give the bike a quick wipe down to prevent any water seeping in anywhere it shouldn't!

    Sensible Improvements

Oops, actually this is what happened. The assistance was inversely proportional to the effort you put in. The motor would gradually offer less assistance until you reached the top speed of 15mph.

eZee Torq owners: What range are you getting from your battery?

It certainly is a shock to the system once the battery has given up. I don't think the bike is particularly difficult to pedal, I assume we've been so used to riding with the assist that once the battery gives out the bike 'feels' a lot heavier. It reminds me of scuba diving as you are...

    Sensible Improvements

Thanks for that Flecc, I shall certainly view my shaver in a different light tomorrow :D It is a very interesting topic though as I've seen certain bikes in the states that have fairly detailed battery meters mounted on the handlebars including one with an LCD display. Looks like no one really...

    Sensible Improvements

Something got me thinking this morning while shaving! What has this got to do with electric bikes you say? Well, my shaver has a battery guage and as it drains the little bars on the display drop off until it reaches a point where it tells me I have 20 mins shaving time left. It then updates the...

eZee Torq owners: What range are you getting from your battery?

Replying to my own posts already :D Last night a strong headwind again. This time the red light came on at 2 miles . Rather than ease off the throttle, I decided to hold out and kept it at full whack for the rest of the journey. A few occasions it dipped back into amber, but only when...

eZee Torq owners: What range are you getting from your battery?

I was recommended for the first couple of charges that once that green light comes on, to switch off the charger, remove the cable for 5 minutes and then plug back in again and charge - a kind of booster charge if you will.

How many electric bikes do you see out on the roads?

I saw a couple on the road last night although they were styled a little more towards mopeds. I also passed a number of non-electric cyclists pedalling furiously into the wind last night :) (20mph+ headwind - ouch) :)

    Bike Insurance

That really is very cheap indeed! Cycleguard seem be considerably more expensive. Was it a seperate policy you took out or part of your existing home insurance policy ? Also, does the £1500 limit include accessories or just the bike ?
