    Display mode light flashing

Ah, now I remember what happened to my connector. The bike toppled over the other day and it must have got crushed between the fork tube and frame. There’s no way I would have tried to force it on like that. Just goes to show they can easily be damaged if the bike falls over. Your coms problem...

    Display mode light flashing

I think you should check all of the connections on your bike are plugged in properly and not damaged. I just managed to destroy a 5 pin Julet plug on a display and I’m usually very careful when I plug them in. It’s really easy to do if you aren’t paying enough attention and Halfords may have...

    Brake upgrade. Mechanical or hydraulic

Shimano D03S are the replacement pads for my Risun 4 pots, so there is plenty of pad surface area with these brakes. I presume mine came with Chinese copies of these pads, but they still work well.

    Brake upgrade. Mechanical or hydraulic

I’m not impressed with Tektro either. I got a Risunmotor hydraulic brake kit which I think is I very good. https://www.risunmotor.co.uk/products/4-piston-electric-bike-hydraulic-disc-brake-kits-front-and-rear-hydraulic-disc-brake-4-piston-calipers I ended up mixing and matching the parts on 3...

    Battery deconstruction.

I took an old 36v battery down to my local council recycling centre last week and put it in the battery bin and they were fine with that.

Chinese wire gauges always seem ridiculously small to me as well, but I haven’t had anything melt yet.

The hall sensors are mounted on a pcb that has been removed, there are six of them. This video shows the circuit boards for the original components, about one and a half minutes in.

    Why Ride Rad?

He needs to enquire about all this stuff on the Rad owners forum. They have been running these upgrades for years, so should be able to advise him of what works and what doesn’t.

    Why Ride Rad?

    Interesting figures you got. Mine are 35E - 3500mah and 8 amps 30Q - 3000mah and 20 amps https://www.fogstar-wholesale.co.uk/product-tag/18650/

    Why Ride Rad?

Now look up the comparison between maximum discharge current of each type of cell.

    Why Ride Rad?

30Q cells are much better and only cost a few pennies more.
  13. AGS

    Why Ride Rad?

No, those cells aren’t marvellous by today’s standards but they have a maximum discharge current of 8 amps, each, so at 4P or 5P it will cope, but won’t give much range flat out from a 14AH battery.

    Why Ride Rad?

I have noticed that people fit one of these and put a more capable battery inside. https://radpowerbikes.eu/products/radrunner-center-console Got to laugh at the cup holder.

    Why Ride Rad?

If he is lucky enough to have a G062 instead of a G060 then he has a very torquey motor and it will be a superb hill climber.
  16. AGS

    Why Ride Rad?

It looks like it has a G062 1000 watt motor. The motor cable is coming out on the brake disk side. G060 motors have the cable coming out of the chain side.

    Help! LCD3 settings

According to the specifications the motor has 16 magnets and either a 10.5 or 8.1 gear ratio depending if it’s a 201 rpm or 328 rpm motor. P1 - should be either 129 or 168 P2 - I have no idea P4 - 1 and C4 -1 need to set both of these. C5 - Depends upon your maximum safe battery current. C12 -...

    Why Ride Rad?

I think most of us don’t understand what the eggrider can do. From what I can see from the manual, it can be set up to be UK compliant.

    Why Ride Rad?

The eggrider can be configured to cut the throttle off at 6 kph. Here is the user manual for the eggrider used on the Rad which has a Lishui controller. https://manual.eggrider.com/ebike_settings/radpower/ The off road profile however is not UK compliant, but it looks like the off road mode...
