Yose 36v 350w running at 48v on a KT controller

There is a L1 setting after the C settings that locks the controller LVC. I think its normally set to 0 for auto but can be set L1= 1 for 24v, L1=2 for 36v, L1= 3 for 48v . Any possibility this is wrong?

Hub motor and V brakes - how long will the rim last?

I tend to use the bike during the winter on wet and hilly roads, and the rear rims (and chain) tend to wear down quickly due to the spray of water containing road dust/grit from the front wheel. I use a mudflap on the mudguard but the rims still wear due to grit getting onto the rear rim and...

    Somersby Pendleton Tyres

Schwalbe Land Cruiser Plus Tyre 700x40c (28 x1.6) fitted perfectively without having to interfere with the mudguards in my case. (2017 rear hub model) I also tried a 700x45c marathon but they are a tight squeeze with the mudguards left on.

    Kt P5 setting

There is suppose to be a formulae that the P5 value indicates the voltage at which the last bar disappears, and that is U = LVC + P5 / 3.77. The other bars are suppose to scale proportional. So for example, if lvc is set at 30v and p5 is set for 12, the last bar disappears at 30+12/3.77 =...

Where can I get a compatible replacement handlebar display for a Pendleton Somerby ebike? (King Meter 790 LED)

My (daughters) July 2017 pendleton has the digital version of the 790. (It automatically switches off after a few minutes with no activity and has flashing lights error codes if brake switch sticks etc. It needs to communicate to controller to do this, so has 5 active wires).

    TSDZ2 pinion gear cover friction

I notice on mine that there is a fair amount of chainring wobble. This wobble tends to reduce once a small amount of pressure is put on the pedals. If the bike is used with a throttle and the rider doesn't pedal, the spragclutch ( that carries the large gear and chainring) remains unlocked and...

    kunteng kt36/48 no battery level

The material used in shunts is usually not pure copper but an alloy of copper with sometimes manganese and nickle added which has much less conductivity i.e it acts like a low resistance. e.g. Manganin Putting in a pure copper bridge, even with smaller wire will short circuit the shunt.

Help! Hi , Carrera vulcan battery charger flashing red.

I had that problem with a phylion (joycube) battery and a charger that looks similar (5 pin phono type plug). In my case, I checked the voltages of all the individual cell groups and the were all the same. I eventually traced the fault to a bad connection in one of the balance wires. My...

Having a front hub motor and a rear hub motor on the same bike ?

Climbing 10% hills at 20km/hr is easily achievable and is consistent with what would be expected with simulator. ( I am about 90Kg, bike 30kg and has 700c wheels)...

Having a front hub motor and a rear hub motor on the same bike ?

I am running a similar setup at present with a rear yosepower 350w 280rpm with lcd3 and pas only (torque simulation) and 16 ah battery. (36v) On the front, I have a xf07 240rpm with no lcd or pas with 11 ah battery, fitted to a steel non suspension front fork.(throttle only+ kill switch only...

    XF07 on 20" wheel

I think it gives a constant voltage output as one complaint is that the lcd gives no indication of battery usage. But I think you can set the low voltage protection in the converter to say 35 volts to give some advanced notice of battery depletion. Once battery drops below this level, converter...

    XF07 on 20" wheel

This is something that I have considered. I have a 20 inch folder and a high mileage xf07 clone with a KT 36v controller and battery that has a meaningful top speed of about 28 km/hr on a 700 wheel. On a 20 inch wheel, I would expect this to reduce to 20 km/hr. One suggested economical...

    Worn cassette and chain

Yes. 2500 miles = 4000km. I think that's not bad. I had some chains wear out quicker, especially in winter.

Broken rear spoke. Caused by rear motor?

Read article below which should clarify things for you. https://ebikes.ca/learn/wheel-build.html#SpokeGauge As regards getting your wheel fixed for now, getting identical replacement spokes to replace the broken spoke is probably the best way to go. Its often possibly to bend or curve the...

Broken rear spoke. Caused by rear motor?

I partially agree with you here (at least in my case and after many spoke breakages). If you look at the photo below, you will see a gap at the place marked (red) X caused by the 13g stainless steel spokes been too hard/rigid to wrap tight against the flange properly. This does not happen with...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Re. Kt controller and Lcd3 on Yose kits, I notice that if you hold down the 'arrrow up' and 'arrow down' buttons together for about 20 seconds or more after going through the p and c settings, you get into the 'L' setting menu. L3 allows you to switch off the halls for sensor less working. The...

Battery set for the bin today.

Was the battery still connected to the bike or stored off the bike or have you a separate on/off hard power switch? The reason I ask is because its possible for the controller to slowly drain the battery, as with many bikes it still has power connected when turned off by handlebar lcd/led unit...

    TSDZ2 Alternative

It could be the motor going backways (probably unlikely) but I would first take out the blue gear and check for wear. Also check the small needle bearing 'clutch' (hf1216 ?). Blue gear should turn freely on shaft one way only. This can fail (sometimes from over-greasing the blue gear). Plenty...

    Ebike pedal arms

I think some folders come with a special folding pedal, possibly only on one side (the outside when bike is folded) to make the bike more compact to stuff into bag etc.

Please take me back to school battery electrics

One thing that someone suggested and I tried lately was fitting shorter cranks to the middrive. In my case, I used 155mm steel cranks from an old 24 inch youths mountain bike and ground off the chain wheel. The shorter cranks make it a lot easier to pedal faster. It does reduce the torque a...
