Ebike pedal arms

Hi, Iam looking for a suitable electric bike but the last one I looked at wasn't for me after the test ride so I left it! I've seen a elife natural folding ebike at a fair price of £250 but on the photos I've noticed different pedal arms, one black, one metal silver and 2 different pedals! Would this matter or would it affect the ride? I will ask on the viewing tomorrow what happened as its like that, but I would like to know if I should avoid -

Colour of the arms wouldn't matter; for normal riders they should match length though. I've had non-matching pairs when replacing worn chainset and not bothering to change the crank on the left. Different pedals is slightly odder, but wouldn't really matter as long as they are similar.

I guess the most likely reason for the difference is an accident and some replacements needed. It'll be interesting to hear the seller's story.

It's very common for a pedal to come loose when people get the bike delivered in a box and have to assemble the pedals themselves. If you don't nip them up tight, they come loose and damage the thread in the arm, so it has to be replaced. Also, the pedal and arm are very vulnerable in a crash. I had one cheap pedal, where the shaft just snapped in two for no reason. Some people would have had trouble extracting the remaining bit, so would have found it easier to replace the whole arm and pedal, especially if they had one on an unused bike.

The only important thing is that the arms are the same length. Even that doesn't matter for some people.

My pedal fell of the other night after an accident, damaged 9mm of the tread... Pedal arms can be mismatched for legiit reasons. I'll put some threadlocker on it.

I think some folders come with a special folding pedal, possibly only on one side (the outside when bike is folded) to make the bike more compact to stuff into bag etc.
