I have a Somersby Victoria Pendleton E bike with normal road tyres. I want to go off road so need suitable tyres, can anyone recommend replacements.
The size on the bike at the moment is 28" x 1,625 x 1.5. Thanks

Schwalbe Land Cruiser Plus Tyre 700x40c (28 x1.6) fitted perfectively without having to interfere with the mudguards in my case. (2017 rear hub model) I also tried a 700x45c marathon but they are a tight squeeze with the mudguards left on.

Also make sure the brakes are up to it, especially if you are doing much downhill.

PS By the way, with Schwalbe tyre types generally if you want extra puncture protection, you buy the + plus version. Also, the Land Cruisers have a continuous high ridge on the center and this prevents the road noise that is common with knobbly tyres.

Why would you want to go off road with a sit up and beg type of bike?

Why not ?

If the ride is good and comfy doesn't have to be a mtb.
Why do most people ride them (mtb's on roads)?

My Boardman CX bike has wide swept bars (40 degs) and is super comfy for off road, I also buck the trend as it is a hub motor as well and no way stops me off roading on the roughest of routes.
