Are cycle lanes a good thing or a bad thing?

Oh dear! So much proposed transport innovation is stymied by antique and foolish legislation. The very early little petrol cycle motors were a real case in point. Their coming under the heading of motor cycles completely destroyed their usefulness and likelihood of popularity.

    What is wrong with 50cycles?

In my experience nothing. They are possibly a little brisk on the phone sometimes, but I welcome that. I like being treated as an adult rather than buttered up as a prospective customer. They answered my questions in a way that was individual, useful, unexaggerated and very, very valuable...

Are cycle lanes a good thing or a bad thing?

That really is quite awful isn't it. And when on top of this one considers that it is totally unnecessary since most of these wretched great things never see anything other than a tarmac road, one doubts homo sapiens' sanity. The lovely little Italian passenger trike, that we have seen a pic of...

    When in Milan...

Hey - that trike is a real beauty isn't it. I have rather a soft spot for trikes and that one really does ring the bell. Thanks for the pic.

saddle for TauTag I'm a bit chuffed tonight as I managed this afternoon to repair my body geometry saddle that I broke a few days ago. I used a bit of thin sheet alloy and half a dozen pop rivets, and it looks as if will work OK as I tested it out pretty thoroughly. It doesn't look as good as...

I'm sure it won't be long, Music, and that you'll find it well worth having waited. Meanwhile - if you would like a pic of any part of TauTag especially, or from any special angle do let me know and I'll take it and put it up on the site. What a wonderful facility digital cameras are!

    solid wheels

I saw a bike with solid wheels for the first time this morning. Unfortunately it was passing by quickly on the other side and I only got a quick glimpse. My impression was that it was a classy standard road bike with an expensive appearance to it. Are these wheels carbon fibre or something...

That reminds me of the old plumber being shown round an ultra modern tool room. "Well my man" says the snooty chap leading him, "here we can work to within a millionth of an inch. "Coo", says the old plumber, "Can you really? In my trade we have to get things right or we get leaks."

The Tau is not named neither is it taggable by thought. Constant in spendour and splendid in design it pervades all things and riding in majesty it is ever charged in both positive and negative, both Yanging its Yin and Yinning its Yang.
