    Winter Gloves

Here's my gloves. Only £2.50 what a bargain! They're very thin like posh evening-wear gloves, so you can still operate switches/buttons etc..yet they're surprisingly warm. The white on them is highly light reflective and they have a stripe all down the side, so ideal for hand signalling. I...

    New Speedict Coming

Thanks Dave appreciate all the info and help, I'm all set then! I have a HTC Desire phone and was hunting around on eBay for a way of mounting it securely with protection from rain when I spotted this bargain for a fiver: Although it says it's for HTC Desire HD the seller informs me its...

Is there any hub drive bike worth paying more than £1700?

I would definitely recommend the front wheel build for people who want to keep their bike functionality in terms of gearing and for ease of fitting... the only downside for me is that it makes the bike look very clearly electric whereas rear hub is more discrete.. I guess the question comes down...

Will e-bikes ever enjoy mainstream popularity in the UK?

I think a cheap good bike will always capture sales rather than trying to convince buyers to part with more cash..the way the market seems to be going in UK is that bikes are getting cheaper and cheaper.. the type of operation in Holland would be difficult to do in UK I think with so many...

Another day, another (Powacycle) battery problem

Is Powacycle still going as a brand and company? I used to hear it mentioned a lot a few years back when I first came to the forum now it's gone silent.

    DIY battery for Tonaro

I considered Lipos myself as a low cost and lower weight option than Li-Ion.. I like the idea of it, but I don't trust myself with the extra responsibilities of building them right and checking them etc.. I'm a bit nervous about batteries that need special handling..I had a battery cell blow up...

    New Speedict Coming

This sounds a really fantastic piece of technology and a much better option than buying the more expensive controllers+motors that have the LCD consoles (which are quite hard to get hold of still, BMS/GBK have no plans to stock them).. those consoles like the one I got from Austria offer more...

    New Speedict Coming

I damn, I think I needed to order to the sensor? I found ordering a bit confusing and wish I'd checked as it saw the sensor for speed/distance but it said "optional to pedelec sensor" so I thought if you already had a pedal sensor it would somehow interface to the speedict.

Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

Fingers crossed then :) I asked them if they've looking at having a UK distributor for shipping units by sea freight and offered my services, will let you know if I here anything! I suspect as the units are lights as you say, they will want to keep the distribution in China.

Is there any hub drive bike worth paying more than £1700?

@d8veh I never had to do any of that. It literally was just a wheel change and plugging in the connectors. I only decided to customise the wiring/connectors later so I could take the battery and controller on and off the bike easy with a velcro handlebar bag. Was I just lucky? My bike had steel...

Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

I placed my order with BMS and they said it's being delivered in TWO DAYS from stock. Heh. I got 4 thumb throttles to keep some spares incase they break..so if anyone wants one, just give me a shout (the basic thin one with no LEDs - $4 each). I was going to order a 20" Q100 250-350W rear kit...

USB interface into Bosch crank computer?

Buy a Raspberry PI and then you got a USB interface controller for it ;-) You just need an LCD then or you could maybe use bluetooth fone to communicate to Raspberry heh

    New Speedict Coming

****e I didn't realise speedict is shipped from outside the UK! Now I'm gonna get hit with VAT, duty and all that lark :-/ That makes it not so cheap as I thought. That's a great product, why on earth don't they have a distributor in UK and sea freight them over.. I'm tempted to offer myself and...

    Electric kit or new bike?

I just bought a new Q100 motor and KU63 controller from BMS, so will be interesting to test them with the BMS 10Ah battery.. we can compare and see what performance it gives eh. Also I bought a speedict so that will give more precise info on the battery current draw/distance and speed, and I can...

    Electric kit or new bike?

I don't think the battery is duff it works good, but maybe the controller and/or motor is more power hungry than the ones from BMS.. I got my kit from Austria. The bike is FAST I can do 23mph. If I use it on pedal assist it never needs charging for days and days. In fact when I used it on pedal...

    BMS Battery conversion kit

Old post, but thought I'd comment on this for anyone reading it. You have to understand the way import VAT is calculated as to why it can seem so high and much higher than 20% VAT sales tax on domestic goods. Customs make couriers follow a standard practice across the EU (EU law) which...

    New Speedict Coming

Ah ok thanks for Dave, I will order now cheers. Dave, do I need the throttle input/out cables if I'm using a standard thumb throttle? Also, what's that green button "Start Aid" thing.. is that worth having? It looks like a cruise button to override throttle?

Will e-bikes ever enjoy mainstream popularity in the UK?

I think that's a good idea and good business.. like a delivery and installation/bike check service..you could quickly establish a network that covers all areas of the UK...you could either specialise in certain brands of bike and work with those companies to sell your service at the point of...

    Oxygen eMate Race

I think that's quite possible, or they may just say they can't help. But there are genuine uses were you would want to use the bike off-road for example, or maybe overseas where there's no restriction. Question: If you have a button on the bike which can switch between restricted/unrestricted...
