Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

There have been a number of cases locally where shared footpaths have been strewn with roofing tacks. A real problem for the leisure rider but I can understand why walkers are annoyed.

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

I live near a common. During the first lock down I saw 5 or 6 young men 16-18 years of age pedalling a motley assembly of old bikes, not racing types, across the common. They were doing 8-10mph, chatting, smoking and generally enjoying the outdoors. They were outnumbered by mainly older, grim...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

Gringo, I live in Wales and as you say, a 20 mph limit would be of no use. All the traffic here travels at 30mph minimum, generally 35mph. I note that the OP says he lives in Wales, but where.? Where I live, we do have a few local 20mph zones but they are in the main ignored and the Police do...

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

If I wanted to go faster than 15 mph I would buy a small motor bike, but I am more than happy at 15 mph on my ebike, no helmet, no MOT, no compulsory Insurance, use shared footpaths.

    Invention help charging system

My great idea is to fit large soft coil springs to the saddle with piezo electric crystals, so every time you go over a bump the saddle charges the battery. Of course, I could patent this, but all that I need is one investor to put half a million into my idea and I will share the huge profits 50/50

how drivers see you based on the clothes you wear.

Problem with this philosophy is that you may be right. No good if you end up dead right

    Another mid drive

I am not too sure about it being more powerful than other systems unless they care to tell us why. Also, just how many gears does it have and what are their range.

    Another mid drive

Quite a number of pre 1914 motorcycles had oversize Sturmey Archer type hub gears.

What to plug in first when charging the battery

Both of my bike make a cracking sound (spark) if I connect the charger to the battery first. I always therefore connect the charger to the mains first.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Don't worry, Old Wokie will soon open another bottle of his famous Vintage Whine. It is noticeable that the concept of critical thinking entirely passes the left by. Over the past 4 years there has been a steady anti Trump drone. The Mueller fiasco reputedly cost $40,000,000, The Democrats will...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Only a brainwashed lefty could write such lies. You know as well as I do that he is not a tax dodger, even Boris had to give up his US citizenship to escape their IRS. As for corrupt and degenerate, will you just take a close look at your hero Biden.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

You could also contrast it with Churchill's 'Blood, sweat and tears' speech, but the problem is that Churchill was a Tory! Anyway, what do you do? Give up at the first opportunity?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Contrast this with the weak, limp leaders we have in Europe. But I guess lefties will hate it.

    cycling haters petitions afoot

Thanks Flecc for a sensible London perspective. Obviously public transport where you live is nearly as inefficient and polluting as here in semi rural Wales. Our main problem, besides far wetter weather than most of the UK is hills. Ok for the fit and healthy to bike it, but so many people need...

    cycling haters petitions afoot

This Act of Parliament is only aspirational. Very few of the MPs who voted it in will be in power in 2030. Legislators cannot bind future generations. I am sure that the 18th Century politicians who enacted the Sunday Observance laws could not conceive that a time would come when their laws...

    cycling haters petitions afoot

I am pretty sure that personal weather proofed (i.e. Some sort of car) will continue long into the future. A mobile workforce is a modern necessity, and any reduction of its mobility will affect GDP. Public Transport is a non starter, it is slow, does not go exactly where the traveller needs to...

    cycling haters petitions afoot

It's not the banning of guns and knives per se but an illustration of just how a handful of people can push MP's into banning something. Personally, I don't think a restriction on cyclists in any form is likely. Unlike weapons, bikes are good for the general health of the population.

    Oxygen MTV mudguards

If you haven't got the lugs for mudguards, instead of hose clips, these people sell rubber lined 'P'clips https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/HoseClip.html Generally, you need to make sure of what width your forks will accept and get the longest mudguards in that size. Note the stupid modern...
