Overamping and/or overvolting 9c clone hub

I think the main problem with your disc brakes is the thin, flimsy nature of discs intended only for cycle use. They will soon overheat and warp.

    Help! Complete Newbie

That looks like a 790 display, very common.Water can get in through the crack on the top. I sealed mine with superglue. also, use evostick to seal the part where the cable goes into the display. Finally, loosen the screws holding it to the handlebar, so in bad weather you can turn it to a...

    Guinea Pig Needed

Although it was later famously said that the C5 was powered by a washing machine motor, the motor was in fact developed from a design produced to drive a truck cooling fan. ... The C5's electronics were produced by MetaLab, a Sinclair spin-off.

    Help! Tyres deflating

Question, Does slime stop this? I remember in the late 1950's Dunlop brought out new tubes, I think they were called 'Air seal' They certainly held their pressure for weeks, although in those days it was not possible to measure the pressure with Woods valves, we just pumped the tyre up and did...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

My feeling is that any improvements in cycling facilities are totally driven by the the government who have a wish to improve air quality and reduce obesity. I suspect that there is no voting majority for this view, so they will have to go very slowly one step at a time. Any government that...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

Whenever I return from the continent in my camper van, it is immediately noticeable just how much more traffic there is on UK roads. This style of roundabout will not work here, it will simply clog up all the traffic. Also, I suspect that we build far more roundabouts than Europe. For all the...

    Bike Sizing Guide

Very useful, but as he acknowledges, it is not height that matters but inside leg. I know a couple where the 6 foot 3" man has the same leg measurement as his 5 foot 6" wife.

    Chain coming off front sprocket

The chain often comes off the front chain ring on my folder bike. Generally if I have folded it, so I always leave it in a middle gear when I park it.

    Silly mistake.

Thanks for that. I take it that this type of socket plug has two concentric circles. I have just checked mine and think that it is OK as the outside circle is well down from the central hole. Thanks for warning us though and good luck with repairs.

    Silly mistake.

What sort of charging socket do you have? Can we see a photo because I cannot understand this, there is no way I could get a key into the two types of charging socket that I have.

UK’s first e-scooter trial scaled back amid widespread misuse – including underage riders zipping through shopping centres

Frankly, I find it all a bit childish. I guess that this business of flying the flag upside down as a distress signal is an urban myth. Anybody who has done any sailing will tell you that unless you are quite close, you would not be able to tell. Flags flap around in the wind and if you want to...

UK’s first e-scooter trial scaled back amid widespread misuse – including underage riders zipping through shopping centres

It appears that it was his PM aircraft. Most people look at the flag with the flag pole on the left, but on aircraft, the nose is taken as the flag pole, so that flags on the right hand side appear to be back to front. The French and US presidential aircraft also have apparently back to front...

UK’s first e-scooter trial scaled back amid widespread misuse – including underage riders zipping through shopping centres

Isn't that typical of the UK though. To have a flag which most people think is symmetrical and have no idea as to whether it is upside down. To have separate currency in Scotland, the Channel Islands etc., a separate legal system in Scotland. The Isle of Man, half way between NI and the mainland...
