Recommendations for android smartphone that is waterproof enough for use on bike, or good usable phone case

Thanks for this. I would be using it as my regular phone, so slow and basic wouldn't suit I'm afraid.

Recommendations for android smartphone that is waterproof enough for use on bike, or good usable phone case

Hello there... I'm a long time user of Garmin GPS both on and off bike, and I've been very happy with it. But my current phone is on its last legs, and it occurs to me that I should consider getting a phone that I could use as a replacement for my even more ancient Garmin. In the past I have...

    HELP!!

I love schwalbe tyres and generally use marathon supreme (rating 5), but they dont stop thorns at hedge-cutting time if the weather is dry!

    Tingling hands

ah, good man - snap! In the 70's I saw him at Birmingham and late in Liverpool. Also saw the Magic Band on penultimate and final tours - both times in Newcastle. Excellent!

    Tingling hands

Yep have just ordered a ritchey adjustable stem so that I can experiment with height , as it is tricky to adjust height by rotating bars without losing my ideal hand position. Cheers, John

You got it! Trout Mask is my favourite album, but I love them all (except Blue Jeans & Moonbeams and Unconditionally Guaranteed, which don't count <g>)

    Tingling hands

UPDATE I bought some Bontrager bars, which are very much like the on-One Marys bars except they have a wider straight central section, which suited my equipment better. Angle of backsweep and over all width is about the same. They feel much more comfortable, and look much more natural. I still...

Bosch Performance Line CX motor sounds like a loud milk float. Is it normal?

UPDATE Just rode the bike back from the bike shop, complete with new motor. What a difference! Not nearly as loud, and I couldn't hear the tinnitus-like jangling. Very happy! Now I can swap over my Brooks saddle, change the handlebars etc and generally make it mine. I wasn't certain that...

Bosch Performance Line CX motor sounds like a loud milk float. Is it normal?

Hi Phil, that's brilliant, thanks v much. My wife can't hear her AL3 above my CX4, so it definitely sounds like my motor is noiser than it should be. I know this isn't scientific, but it is interesting! Thanks again Cheers, John

Bosch Performance Line CX motor sounds like a loud milk float. Is it normal?

Do you know, could HE hear the AL3 he was riding above the noise from your CX4? I ask because my wife (on her AL3) can't hear her AL3 above my CX4, so this would be a direct comparison. (Like you, I can't hear her AL3 above my CX4) Thanks Philip Cheers, John

Wisper Any thing I need to know?

Hiya... Check that you have the tools you need to attach the pedals and straighten/tighten the handlebars, unless you are picking it up from shop or getting it delivered fully assembled. Very easy jobs as long as you have the tools. You may just need allen keys, but some bikes need a pedal...

Bosch Performance Line CX motor sounds like a loud milk float. Is it normal?

Hiya again... I haven't mentioned it before, but there are three parts to the noise my CX makes. One is the milk float noise, but another part is a super high pitched jangling, it is like having tinnitus, it sounds like the noise is in my ears rather than coming from the bike. Do you get that...

Ta Philip... that settles it, your milk float is quieter than mine! <g> Cheers, John

Bosch Performance Line CX motor sounds like a loud milk float. Is it normal?

That really is interesting. I was under the impression that people only did 100% inspections when either the equipment was mission critical, or there was a known issue with quality. Certainly when I worked at Schlumberger that was the case - the more reliable the products, the fewer samples were...

Bosch Performance Line CX motor sounds like a loud milk float. Is it normal?

Cyclebuddy - no, it isn't crap. I'd be very surprised if Bosch did 100% inspections. If you don't do 100% inspections, there is of course a risk that some defects will get through. My experience has been completely unlike yours, where you went to the dealer 4 times, and all they did was run...

    Converting my Ridgeback hybrid.

Hiya.. That's great, ta v much. I've just ordered some Bontrager bars that are very like On One Mary bars, as the straight bars are giving me tingling hands. I may need to get longer stem as a result, but I'll wait and see. I too think it is very sensible to tweak your bike so that it suits you...

    Converting my Ridgeback hybrid.

Sorry this has nothing to do with your question, but I see that you have swept back bars on that supernova. I think that this bike is shipped with pretty much straight bars (6 degreees backsweep) but they look like 30 to 35 degrees backsweep. Did you change them yourself, If so, why - did you...
