Why I like buying from Wiggle

Uniqlo http://www.uniqlo.com/uk/ Their "heattech" range of underwear is brilliant. I have lost 25 kg (deliberately) since jan 14 and now really feeel the cold. Their heattech stuff really works much better than classic cotton thermals.

    Making a lightbulb discharger

RING "RIL 700" 12 Volt 50 watt inspection light last price 9.99. For a 48 volt battery, 4 of these in series to take up the 48 volts will provide a 50 watt load. For a 1000 watt load u will still need the 4 in series but then 20 sets of the 4 bulbs in series, but connected in parallel ...

    Making a lightbulb discharger

Try a mains fan heater, at 1000 watts the resistance is 57 ohms, at 2000 watts the resistance is 28 ohms and at 3000 watts the resistance is 19 ohms, so the 3000 watts setting would draw about 4 amps from 72 volt battery. So you start at 1000 watts, then switch thru to 2000 watts, and finally...

    Just for a laugh.

Try tilting the rig in your garage so you will be going "downhill" even faster

    Basic bike work stand suitability?

Just make sure it cannot fall over on them, there was that terrible tragedy a while ago where someone was refurbishing a fireplace with a cast iron surround, which was not propped up securely and it fell over killing the child underneath it. A bike at that "altitude" is going to be lethal if it...

    Motor Torque and Power.

In technical terms its called "back electromagnetic force (back emf)", and it happens the instant the motor starts running, without it an electric motor running unloaded would spin itself to destruction, . Much like full throttle on car or motorbike whilst in neutral.

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

The basic rule is: if there is only one, then to describe my pen I could say "Victor's pen" that is the pen that belongs to Victor If there is more than one, then to describe the celebration of a victory I could write the "Victors' celebration" If you followed the basic singular rule you...

Is it Legal to Ride a UK Throttle Equipped Pedelec in Europe?

Yes it is the greengrocers' apostrophe if there is more than one of them, since I used to belong to an RAF Officers' Mess

    Dynamo...

the wires were there, but undoing two small brass nuts to release the wires and their cable tags was very easy without any possibility of damage to the wiring setup.

    Dynamo...

my wife's 1970 raleigh shopper had two screw terminals on an insulated plate on the side of the front dynamo, one for the "live" and one for the "earth return" via the frame so the alternative has been around for ages

    Dynamo...

I stand corrected (as usual), however are modern tyres built with the heavy serrated sidewalls that my "Dunlop Roadsters" (think that was their name 26" x 1 7/8") used to have to withstand the effect of a dynamo wheel rubbing on them

    Dynamo...

brake pads are cheaper than tyre sidewalls, and easier to change too

    Dynamo...

remember you only have about 1.5 watts to start with!!

    Dynamo...

to add to d8veh comment, the "dynamo" is almost always a 6v ac alternator. when rectified you get just over 4.2 volts dc, that is why if you look closely the dynamo bulbs are always 4.5 volt, becuase that is the "effective" voltage (root mean square) of 6 volts ac. if they were 6 volt bulbs...

    Dynamo...

Another consideration... I am certain most dynamos are alternating current (ac), usually 6 volt output. They were intended for resistive loads (lights) where the bulbs are not sensitive to ac or direct current (dc) supplies. However, most importantly, they also have to have specially matched...

    Opinions on this bike please

but don't let the brake material wear down, any metal to metal contact would open the rim like a can opener!!

On second thoughts... if you have enought rice - bury it. You can still cook and eat the rice afterwards it will not be affected.

    Controllor failure, help please.

Any help would be much appreciated. :) You could put it in a sealed poly bag, in a warm place, with about an 50 grammes of uncooked dry rice for a day or so. The rice has a high affinity for water and will dessicate the contents of the bag. That will remove any last traces of moisture
