    New to site

Welcome to the community. Some pictures and a description of your build would be great, is it a hub-drive kit? Did you use an off-the-shelf kit or was it more of a DIY job salvaging pieces from different places?

    Pashley Parabike Conversion

Hi - good news the rear rack batteries made it (just) onto our latest shipment and will be delivered in early August. I lost track of your email from a few weeks ago but remembered you when reading this thread. Pop us another email in a few weeks time, we should be able to get one of those rear...

Changing from from hub to BB

Hi Alan, The only piece of the 36V kit you got from us that would be easily transferable to another kit e.g. the crank drive you're thinking of getting is the battery. However the battery rack that came with your kit has an integrated controller and special output wires - so if you want to use...

Bypass crank sensor on an eco stepper.

Thanks Kuorider for linking people to the product page - we've actually launched a new shop recently @ www.pandaebikes.com So the best place for people to go now to get the easy fit PAS is here: http://www.pandaebikes.com/product/electric-bicycle-e-bike-pas-pedal-assist-sensor-easy-fit/ It's...

    Increasing throttle speed

Ok, those are quite standard throttles and LED screen. What determines the speed that you can go with the throttle is the inner workings of the controller (the box with all the wires coming out of it). It could be that you simply need to find a new motor controller that allows this...

Undervolting? a more powerful motor for more speed.

I would echo this, you're better off choosing a motor designed for your needs and matching your battery voltage. All motors are designed to a particular motor constant which determines torque and the top speed at a certain maximum voltage. Any good supplier/manufacture will be able to build a...

    Increasing throttle speed

Hi, this has to do with the controller settings. What controller is it? Often you can use the LCD display that comes with the controller to adjust thr throttle/pas settings to change the level of control and speed you get with thr throttle. It may be that your controller is not adjustable and in...

    Cyclotricity Conversion Kit

It sounds like a 250W kit will be fine for what you need it for, If you only have an 8 mile commute and the hills aren't too steep then a 24V kit would probably be worth considering (as opposed to the standard which is 36V). You'll save money on the battery as well as saving weight because of...

Dropping from 36V motor to 24V motor for more speed?

Hi, you're right in that using a 36V battery and controller with a 24V motor will give you a higher top speed. This is because a 24V motor is wound in such a way giving a motor constant where the back EMF reaches 24V at a particular rpm, which is usually deliberately set at around 25-35 kph...

    Thorn rohloff

Relec, I'd agree with d8veh that the Xiongda kit would be ideal for you if you're primary concern is the hill climbing. Mid-drive crank kits are also good for getting up hills, but perhaps not such a good option if you have an "eccentric" bottom bracket?

    Thorn rohloff

Agreed with d8veh the TORQLock would not be appropriate for a Xiongda kit, they are design for maximum 250W 20Nm kits and require you to have M5 eyelets. However we do sell a range of affordable non-locking torque arms as well which would be suitable. We have both universal torque arms (that...

    eBike conversion kit help

A lot of other pedelecers have been liking the Xiongda kit on this thread... we only replied because of the large number of people referencing us and talking about our prices. It would have been rude not to join in the discussion - I wouldn't call it "hard faced advertising".

    eBike conversion kit help

Of course, there is a range of kits you can go for. The Bafang kits are great, and german laden / vpower_ebike are OK if you want to go low end. We sell lower end kits too... but we recommend Xiongda when someone has a bit more money and wants something a bit fancier, or needs a kit...

    eBike conversion kit help

The Xiongda kit looks fine, and it has some great functionality with the 2 gearing modes and LCD screen. What the kit does is more important I think than exactly how it looks. Bullet connectors are also fine - just press them in tightly and make sure they are contained in something waterproof...

    xiongda questions

Hi Jonathan The Xiongda controllers are designed specifically for their motors. Xiongda are currently trialling a number of different controllers from various local manufacturers. The main one they use is Kunteng, which has a good current output, is cheap, but not the most reliable and not...
