    Help! Tongsheng TSDZ2 power gone

Before buying a new controller you could try re-programming with the standard software and getting it back to a known condition. Standard software can be found here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1eGcBtTj8GrGQ4tDJAECr6ejMrpW2ZqvH and instructions here...

Building Ebike batteries for a bike shop - Questions regarding liability, insurance, etc.

Would you not have to CE mark the batteries ( at least till the end of the year) ? You can do this yourself i.e. self certify but this still needs in-house test results component declarations etc. together with quite a lot of paperwork

Experiences with Open Source Firmware on the Tongsheng TSDZ2

Further tests of the firmware: I have managed to get out and give the system more of a real test. I am pretty positive about it, well worth the £10 it cost me to install it :) I am using it in Power-assist mode and the assistance is smoother than before. In level 4 it would surge with each pedal...

Experiences with Open Source Firmware on the Tongsheng TSDZ2

First comparison I have seen between BBS and TSDZ2 motors. (From ECO Cycles website) Included: Bare TSDZ2 Controller with Battery, Speed Sensor, and Display Connectors - Any Power Level / Programming is Available Upon Request (24-52v, 10-18a, 250-750w) Most of the TSDZ2 models that leave...

Experiences with Open Source Firmware on the Tongsheng TSDZ2

Isla, I think your speedo delay is covered in the display manual :- " Attention, the display always interprets the data received as a speed and consequently increases the odometer, even when the bike is stationary. By enabling the parameter ENABLE_ODOMETER_COMPENSATION in the config.h file...

Experiences with Open Source Firmware on the Tongsheng TSDZ2

Well the extension lead finally arrived so I bit the bullet and did it. Early on i could not get read the program byte to read but after checking the pin-out umpteen times and re-flashing the dongle I finally shortened the interface wires from short to very short and eureka it burst into life...

Experiences with Open Source Firmware on the Tongsheng TSDZ2

Hi, Great write up and very full detail. I have been put off upgrading my bike by having to buy a new display ( or so i thought). I read through all the links but am a little confused. I could not find the link to open source firmware that uses the VLD5 display I could only find "stock firmware"...

    TSDZ2 Open source

Hi, Did you look at this bit of the open source website https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/How-to-install-the-Flexible-OpenSource-firmware because I don't think you will find more detailed instructions that these. It is availible pre -built (loaded ) from here...

Need Julet connector to JST connector cable

Hi, A bit late I am afraid but I wonder if this would work https://www.e-bike-technologies.de/index.php/en/connectors/connectors-signal/connectors-higo-mini-b-series/higo-mini-b-accessories/higo-pb-detail It enables you to use a planel mount connector as a waterproof connector on the end of a...

Tsdz2 into a Voodoo zobop fs

I have noticed that some people solve this problem by rotating the motor clockwise until the motor stops on the frame and then fit without a bracket. Since the motor rotates in that direction this makes an effective stop. No idea if it would work with your bike but might we worth a look

    Strange potentially dangerous grounding issue

It is quite common for switched mode power supplies to have a small capacitor between the live input and the low voltage output. This is done to reduce electrical interference and is allowed by the approval authorities. There is a small ac current back to the low voltage side but too low to...

    Brake sensor constantly on

Well that's sort of better. 0.7 volts indicates a diode drop so could be connected to another output on the controller. Have you disconnected all the connectors to the brakes ? if so try disconnecting other wiring and see if anything changes

    Brake sensor constantly on

The voltage cannot be different if they are connected by a low impedance i.e. the same place so :- Are you using the same reference point when measuring the voltages? Try disconnecting the power and use your meter to measure the resistance between the points you think are the same. if they are...

    Brake sensor constantly on

Hi, If your meter is digital ( not analogue with a pointer) then the impedance will be fine.

    Elephant bike conversion

It's been a while but I have just fitted a TSDZ2 to my elephant bike. No problems and there is plenty of space for the anti-rotation bracket while keeping the kickstand. Works like a dream. I think I am going to try upgrading with the opensource firmware that is available we will see how that goes!

    Elephant Bike

I was considering a TSDZ2 mid drive kit from PSW power. Here is a post from someone who has carried it out https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/elephant-bike-conversion.29785/#post-473204 One possible problem is that the anti rotation bracket might foul on the kickstand so a bit of extra...

    Help please, TSDZ2 problem...

As DouglasXK said it is almost certainly a speed reading. I had this problem the sensor position is quite sensitive to position as well as spacing. The wheel magnet needs to be positioned on the correct bit of the sensor there should be a line on the sensor indicating this. The easiest way might...

Will do, but will be a few weeks yet, last resort will be to use the Bafang instead.
