    Ebike wheel wont stay on

Of course it will fall off again... it's a 3000W motor in a bicycle frame! o_O It might not fall off straight away but it surely will, when the metal becomes sufficiently bent / broken after an amount of use. Have fun, but please stay safe... let us know how you get on

    Ebike wheel wont stay on

Yes. And his motor is 1.5kW nominal, so only half the power of yours? And look how substantial all the metalwork on his is, and compare it to your flimsy bicycle frame...

    Measuring Amps on a Multimeter

The first three "Trike" images that Google gives me (excluding toys and pushchairs) are: The second one obviously isn't like yours, but how about either of the other two? Honestly, people on here are keen to help, but you have to give us more to go on than "TRIKE!!!".

    Ebike wheel wont stay on

Wouldn't you be better off with a motorbike? It's legally the same as the machine you're building, but structurally sound!

My First Electric Kit Conversion 250W

Reddit is often very USA-centric. It seems most Americans would regard a 250W motor as barely adequate for a toy (not realising that's the legal limit for PedElecs in Europe), and they are completely unfamiliar with geared hubs.

Whyte Cambridge 2018 - Will this bottom bracket work with TongSheng TSDZ2?

I'm very inexperienced with e-bikes compared to most of the contributors here. But the way I look at it, with my cadence-sensing hub-motor bike on the road, is that by choosing how hard I pedal, I can choose my overall battery range. I'm going to be going at about 15mph on the level anyway...

    Newbie to electric

Hi. Welcome to the forum :) You'll receive lots of excellent advice here, from people who know a lot more than me. They will need to know more information from you, such as what you plan to use the bike for, where you plan to ride it, how heavy you are, what your budget is, whether you have...

to buy or not to buy?!

A bike in the hand is worth two in the bush. In your shoes I'd do the conversion now.

    Little Friction Drive

Thanks for sharing this with us - it's always interesting to see something out-of-the ordinary :). For your "gentle assist" use-case this looks to be a very neat minimalist solution. The gearing inherent in such a design plays to the strengths of a compact high-speed motor like that. I...

Unread forum posts - colour difficult to see

I'd like to thank you... I installed Stylebot Lite and noticed that the author really recommended Dark Reader too, to reduce eye strain. So I installed Dark Reader as well, and am pleased to report that the resulting dark 'theme' shows up the difference between read and unread posts. So...

Unread forum posts - colour difficult to see

Hi. Great forum, but since the new look, I find it very difficult to see which threads have new comments on them. This is because the colours for the titles of read vs unread threads are almost identical. Is there any chance the colours for read or unread threads be tweaked to be different...

    Vintage bike conversion

Nice. I'd definitely make sure I had at least one brake switch fitted, to override the throttle when one of the linkages / cable sticks.

    PAS - Raleigh Array sensor

No, I didn't find a reasonably-priced source for similar sensors. I bought a standard kit from Yosepower to convert my bike in the end. I'm pleased with the result, but it's not as good as the system on the Raleigh Arrays.

    Took the plunge

Thanks for the offer vfr400 - in the interests of experimentation, you're on :). But I should tell you we've been here before - see https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/yosepower-hub-kits.30061/page-46#post-496757 It's a Yosepower 250W front hub in a 26" wheel with their 7/15A controller...

    Checking off decision to convert

Plus, your Nexus chain will be nice and wide and beefy anyway. I doubt that you seriously need to consider a snapped chain as a possibility with a hub motor.

    Took the plunge

You've repeated this several times now. I don't doubt that this is your opinion, but in the interests of accuracy and transparency to other readers of this forum in the future, you should provide facts that support your opinon. So far, all I've seen is that off-road switches that allow speeds...

    Took the plunge

You said: ....electric bikes fitted with off-road switches or modes, that enable a bike’s motor to continue assisting to speeds beyond 15.5mph, do not comply with UK EAPC law. I'm pointing out that, of the many switches and modes on my ebike, none of them enable it to continue assisting to...

    Took the plunge

I disagree. There's nothing I can do to "enable a bike’s motor to continue assisting to speeds beyond 15.5mph" on my bike.

    Took the plunge

This. My Yose 250W front hub kit has the speed limit in the controller set to 70kph (or something, I can't remember). But the motor windings ensure that it won't assist above about 16mph when my 36V battery is fully-charged. So I'm happy that I'm fully legal even though the LCD allows me to...
