Adding front & rear lights to E-bike

6v. I was warned off running any kind of useful lights off it though as it is low current. Not many lights are rated at 48v unfortunately - I was hankering after a Spanning a but it wasn't to be. I have fitted some 48v eBike lights off Amazon that are approved for Germany. The headlight is...

Question about Walk Assist on Shimano Steps

Hiya, It's a torque sensing system so it'll provide power as soon as you put pressure on the pedal. Have ridden a Steps bike - it was fantastic - I don't think you will miss the throttle. Isla

    Proposed changes to highway code

A lot of drivers seem to think 'Limit' actually means 'Target'. Asshats basically! Edited to add: I also see a lot of drivers do the same in reverse, in that as soon as a sign appears ahead for a higher speed limit, they accelerate straight away. Same with approaching an entry sliproad to...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

My bad - I poorly phrased my answer. I was alluding to your position that nothing will change and motor vehicle use will continue unabated. The way we reduce traffic jams is generally by re engineering roads & in some cases building more. Why is that okay for motor vehicles but not okay for...

ebike motor kit for a wooden bike

That is a thing of beauty! If you end up having token pedals and you are looking at keeping it legal, have you not considered a Bafang mid drive and a hub gear at the wheel? Am thinking of gearing helping you up hills & also maybe improving the range And did I mention it's a thing of beauty?

Don't forget the space that we don't have for bicycle infra Flecc. The private cars days are numbered imo. Don't forget also that whilst the Dutch acknowledged that at speed, motor traffic & bicycles didn't mix...we had the CTC (white men mainly) who thought they knew better (sold us down the river)

Nor us of theirs unfortunately. I think this thread reads like a Daily Fail comments section. Think we will all have to agree to disagree tbh ;D

Not all of NL is fully segregated Flecc, there is a lot more to it than that. Please direct the government to planners & traffic engineers from countries that have experience with these things.

Not true. Absolutely not. Again, absolutely not. Neither did Smokers fund the NHS. * Facepalm * Pedestrians are our friends.

Flecc, we may not agree but I think it is relevant. For all the reasons given against the things we are discussing, public highway evolution in favour of motor vehicles has managed to continue for decades whilst all the same reasons which are just as applicable have been conveniently ignored. We...

People lucky enough to live in Leicester are currently seeing their built environment be transformed pretty quickly. Lucky them. It can be done and still is. Edited to add, Evolution is not the same. But hey ho it does not matter so much, whatever we call it, they are still a helluva lot better...

People outnumber Motor Vehicles. What I advocate is that Public Highways are realigned to reflect that. We are at the point where pavements are routinely blocked by parks cars and where traffic makes our built environment a hazardous place to be. Please note that I also rely on a car, have a van...

Not at all Flecc. You used 'experimental'. Evolving is way more accurate.

Totally disagree Fleck. Build it an they will come, it is that simple. That is the reason why motoring has come to be so convenient and using a bicycle so unsafe - because the building and continuous upgrading of public highways with a heavy bias towards motor traffic has made it so. That is...

Not true. Like all aspects of highway design they are continuously evolving, anything but experimental!
