Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

Well yes but as you allude, 200 deaths in the context of how many of them cycle is actually a tiny percentage. The 40% of those with know one else involved may be due to medical reasons rather than an accident. The numbers themselves in context are unremarkable. In contrast our numbers of...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

I honestly don't understand the kickback from cyclists with this roundabout. The safety issue is entirely around the speed of motor traffic, and infrastructure like this is designed to reduce that. What needs to change is the 'rush rush' selfish culture of people sat behind a steering wheel and...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

The Dutch go with fitness for purpose and increase the separation of cycles from motor traffic where motor traffic speed is higher.

TSDZ2 non-drive side crank binding against BB when tightened

Innit. Mine is waiting for some pedals ordered on 2/8 as 'deliver to store' from Decathlon. Grrr isn't the half of it!

petition to increase the speed limit

When the nat speed limit is 70mph, what is the point of wondering what it's range is at 155?

TSDZ2 non-drive side crank binding against BB when tightened

I have replaced mine with Bafang ones for a narrower q factor, so have a pair going spare unless you take a punt on some Bafang ones too

petition to increase the speed limit

F1 cars also have to change tyres mid race. My Leaf has done over 33k miles on its original tyres and they are still going strong. Granted though, it won't do anywhere near 200mph! :D

Powabyke Xbyke/Tongsheng TDZ - a 'not another build thread' thread

Ta, I copied it from a Delorean Will do. Mine too, will have to be conscious of it but I much prefer a step thru so hopefully a minor inconvenience.

Powabyke Xbyke/Tongsheng TDZ - a 'not another build thread' thread

Thank you :) Unfortunately not with the battery. It would have been a nice & secure mount under there too as that tube is flat on its underside.

Marking drill holes on a BBS02 frame battery holder

Much prefer your level of accuracy to mine. I put two lines of masking tape along the tube, sucked in through pursed lips & took a good guess at the centre line. Think I got away with it just but wouldn't recommend it as a foolproof method!

    Key On/Off Switch

Okay thank you, will take a look at that. Am surprised that this does not feature as part of the design :/

    Key On/Off Switch

Hiya, Does anyone have a means of isolating their Ebikes when left parked somewhere? I wrongly assumed that the key lock on my HL downtube battery also functioned as an on/off switch i.e like an ignition switch. I certainly don't intend removing the battery regularly and am a bit faffed that...

Tandem rear hub conversion with drum brake

I probably should add that if removing it by fitting a hub motor, it would be prudent to replace it with an alternative as your electric kit will add weight - maybe a large diameter disk brake, although you will need the frame modifying to accommodate one.

Tandem rear hub conversion with drum brake

No unfortunately not. That looks like an Arai drum brake >>> https://www.precisiontandems.com/arai.htm They were often fitted the rear of tandems as a drag brake for long descents as they were good at dissipating heat.

    Thoughts on regulations?

Yep agreed, more & better infrastructure where needed & reduced speed in urban areas.

Love Honda Cubs & cannot wait to see the electric one become reality! Did anyone see Vintage Voltage on Quest last week? They converted a Royal Enfield Bullet to electric, looked really nice.
