    Brexit, for once some facts.

This is what I don't get, people keep saying they need us, so they will do a deal.. That's very optimistic and I'd suggest a touch arrogant. We are not a big market. They clearly want to sell to us, but they don't NEED us. Its like me having a relationship with my local shop. I'm a good...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think you might be being a bit hasty to say that all is well with the UK economy. Its not. Businesses are watching, and waiting. The recovery is for a number of reasons, one of which is that no one is sure we're actually leaving. Many big companies could move their HQs out of the UK so...

    2017 KTM news...

It should be retro fitable, yes... when it will be available I don't know. KTM aren't using it on any of the 2017 bikes as a stock item for a number of reasons, that I don't totally agree with.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

clearly guys you aren't daft... do you really think what people are saying publicly is what's actually happening? She even said this morning: "Publicly... we can see no way to turn this around. It's not a time for wishful thinking, but of contemplating the reality." Key word in that sentence...

If you voted IN then here's a second chance for common sense

Parliament is the only ones who can make this call, you can argue you about it all you want, but that's the facts of the situation.

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

I did, good spot, and I've amended it. Regarding your other points, I was trying to be optimistic... I'm also hoping that in a few months, there will be decisions made that allow the country to go back on this decision, and I do believe the markets will bounce back very quickly at even a hint...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

This is the important point, all of Europe is suffering financially because of the decision that was taken. They are all falling because the markets are worried that other countries will also look to leave, or think about it. Its this uncertainty that is effecting the rest of Europe. So the £...

How did you arrive at your eu decision?

great idea for a thread Flud! From my point of view. 1) I've run an import / distribution company for just over 10 years now, in that time we've worked with brands in the USA, Australia and the Far East, its no co-incidence that we now just work with European suppliers. Trade within the EU...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

There are three currencies involved in most bike related transactions. You buy in £s from the shop, the shop buys in £s from the distributor. The distributor might buy in € from a European brand, and then the European brand will buy their components in $s from the Far East. So its possible...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

ok, so essentially you paid in € and it was converted on the day at Paypal's rate at that time. If you look at the € price now, its probably still the same, because they will have stock they bought it at price x a while back. If they order now - they price will 12% higher today than last week...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

I have no idea, who you bought from, or what product. All I know is that pretty much cycle industry wide the prices are set in July for the next 12 months for trade and retail prices. So fuctuations in that time are sucked up by the brand or distributor. I can only remember a time in 2008...

If you voted IN then here's a second chance for common sense

That is the definition, I'm not arguing with that. But no where in that definition does it say that its legally binding does it, because they are not. They are not legally binding, because in the UK Parliament holds the sovereign power doesn't it...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

in that case... the bike shops in the who buy from Magura (I'm assuming it was Bosch) so the shipping costs, and hassle mean that probably the small saving wasn't worth changing the RRP - which is set by Bosch Magura anyway in Europe, not the UK, at the start of the season. Its only in crazy...

as you say, time will tell..... so far everything the leave campaign has promised has already unraveled, and we're only on the 3rd working day since the result. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36641390?SThisFB Of course nothing else of their plans (bearing in mind there was...

12% is the relationship to the $, you're looking at Bosch magura, with is € to £ and the change isn't as dramatic yet. Plus they'll have stock, so their prices will only go up more when they need to replace the stock.

OMG do you have any understanding of how markets work? The $ is now worth 12% more than it was just last week. So everything anyone in Europe buys from the Far East... ie most of it! Has just jumped by 12% in price at the bottom of the supply chain.
