Adding second motor to old Wisper bike?

It can be done, but I'd be surprised if it's worth it. You will probably need another battery and definitely anothr controller and throttle/pedal sensor. D8veh has done it, but IIRC he had some problems keeping his face off the tarmac. You would be better off buying a single, more powerful...

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

I think the OP means that he will pedal to assist the bike up hills.

44t Cog for SRAM XX1/X01 cassette

That's a freewheel. A cassette is splined, and will still work if loose.

44t Cog for SRAM XX1/X01 cassette

You can get away without the chain whip, but it's easier if you have one. A rag wrapped around the sprockets and held tightly will work in a pinch.

    How long to re-stitch a wheel ?

If I have all the right bits, I can do it in an hour or so, and I'm no expert.

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

Assuming a 26" wheel, 154 rpm is about 12 mph, while 230 rpm is about 18 mph.

    Electric taxi project

Thanks for the replies so far guys. So, the plan: convert to a vending platform. Take off the horrible (and massively heavy) body and fit a big box on the back that can contain coolboxes/warmers/whatever. Ice creams in summer, pies/pasties in winter.

I have a 4 speed nexus hub, although not on a giant. I will upload some pics if that's what you need?

No leaning mech, but I doubt it'll fall over. I tried to push it over, and failed. It has a surprisingly low GOG.

    Electric taxi project

Brother and I bought this, er, 'beauty' on eBay. I think it's an early 'velotaxi'. It's interesting, because it's constructed to meet some (possibly all) of the SVA requirements to make it road legal with a 800w motor. It has lights/indicators, motorcycle tyres, horn etc. I guess that for...

Torque and Rotation (Cadence) Sensing - Clarification Question

Can we put oldtom's persistent comments in a FAQ/Sticky somewhere? It'd save him keep having to type them out. If he gets any more predictable I will be able to quote him half an hour before he posts.

    power inverter for batterie charger

I'd say that's right on the limit, when you take into account inefficiencies from both the inverter and the charger. It might work or it might blow the fuse. I'm not sure I'd want to be pulling 15 amps through a cig lighter socket for long. If you had a 24v inverter you'd be in a better...
