    Brexit, for once some facts.

Maybe she saw Hunger Games and wants to try it out for real?

    Headlight upgrade

This is one point where I disagree with d8veh, the IQ CYO is perfect for use on the road (I ride on unlit main roads in the countryside), depending on which one you have, I have the 70 lux one with the daytime running LEDs on the bottom. I find it lights the road just fine without blinding...

Riding home after a beer anyone?

My front fork still bears scars of red wine abuse... When I ride back from S. Sebastian the first several km are on bike paths so by the time I get to the road I am back in shape to handle traffic. Riding the bike back 38 km sure beats walking back  and yes I have done that (once).

    Let's talk torque

As always http://www.ebikes.ca/tools/simulator.html using the custom options is pretty accurate. You have the BPM and CST motors in the motor list, add in a custom controller and battery and simulate to your hearts content :)

How do people get such long range?

Funny you should mention that, I am looking at a 50 Ah battery for my new project. Should get me about 300 km range... :D

    Brexit, for once some facts.

From what he has said he may have the double nationality. So some of his remarks on this thread would be kind of hypocritical. I dream of being Spanish later in life.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Please stop saying the EU didn't do anything to prevent X,Y or Z from happening in the UK. The EU CAN'T do anything to stop national governments from implementing bad policies, it doesn't have the mandate! There is a huge amount of information on the WWW about what the EU does and can do. You...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Of course the UK can exist as a country out side of the EU. The questions are will it be a better country? And for which citizens? It is pretty safe to guess that it will be a failure for those on the bottom of the income scale (in full time employment of course). You just need to look at...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

High vis is used on or near all roads by workers all over the world because it helps stop them being run over. Why is it shocking that the EU has a directive? The EU produces directives, not laws. Governments take EU directives and make them law, or not... Governments can cherry pick which...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Because it is a Spanish law of course... That would be Catalonia, not Spain and the people responsible for those roads are being prosecuted in a huge corruption trial. I know all these things because I watch the Spanish news every day just in case you wondered...

    New Ebike shaft drive system

The Bafang shaft drive plugs into a Shimano gear hub. The marketing blurb says it is for the rental bike market which makes sense.

E- Brompton Coming Soon - Reminder

Hmmm McLaren... "Last Win, Nov 25th 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix" There's your answer! All the motors they have provided so far aren't fast enough :p I was 11 when Bruce and Chris won the Le Mans 24 hours. I saw him drive at Teretonga (and Chris as well). Am I far enough off topic now? :D

    Battery build charging.

Sorry I answered the off topic post, my bad! Most home built batteries I have seen online use XT-60 charging sockets and Anderson output sockets. You could probably even get away with an XT-30 as you are only sending 2 Amps to the battery (but I find the connection isn't as tight). Using an...

    Diy solderless 18650 battery kit.

6 Amps per cell constant discharge seems reasonable in a 5P10S battery with a 17 Amp max controller. If I am calculating correctly that is a 0.6C discharge per cell. Yes the PF cell looks OK too, Elon Musk seems cool with them :) Full mAh printed on the labels are for 2 Amp laboratory load, all...

    Battery build charging.

Most of the current isn't transmitted through the welds, which are really tiny contact points, but rather through the contact of the whole width of the nickel strip with the end of the battery. The welds are there to stop the metal strip from moving about.
