    SIMPLES

I bought one of these brand new just for the GPS (and it is my alarm clock) I only paid 67€ because I had bought other products and had points to use. https://www.energysistem.com/en/products/smartphone/smartphone_series/42499-energy_phone_max_4000 I chose it because: - the screen is big...

    Raleigh Captus

You could swap out the front brake for a Magura hydraulic. It will make the world of difference.

    Open slot torque "arm"

Just the one I was going to fit on the drive side. And the motor will be running at 17 Amps so 710 W peak, battery hot off the charger, 612 W at 36 V.

    Charging laptop battery to 80%?

It's a feature! And linux faster, they must be doing something wrong...

    Open slot torque "arm"

I was reasoning 2 mm stainless + aluminium dropout, combining the strength of the two? The steel is there for the initial burst of torque and the dropout can manage "normal" torque from there on. This is for 26" and 24" hub motor wheels with 250 W motors running at normal power levels. The 24"...

    Charging laptop battery to 80%?

From what I read it has its own network. I wouldn't use one myself when it comes to reading and writing media I only trust wired connections...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

I have been playing with cadence and have come to the conclusion that I need a 44 tooth big chainwheel. The 42 enables me to spin past 90 rpm and changing gear on the cassette doesn't "feel" right, cadence does come down but I am not comfortable. The standard 46 tooth was just too big on my...

    Lightweight Trekking Bike Build

The motor is in the middle of the wheel so the most difference will be felt by losing 1.5 kg of unsprung weight on a suspended bike. Then the weight difference will be felt when riding over and above the cut off, several kilos less weight to chuck around will also help with handling... This...

    Charging laptop battery to 80%?

The recent heat wave didn't do much good to my PC so I am looking at MBs again, this one will be the fourth to go in the case since 2003 so one every 4 years 8 months or so. hush went bankrupt a while back because these things were very expensive and didn't sell very well. The case is carved...

    Open slot torque "arm"

Hence the longer/deeper slot. And loose wheel nuts? This motor was previously in a steel frame so no torque arms and a slightly file deepened dropout slot.

    Open slot torque "arm"

That is my point. I don't want to have to remove the torque arm/plate to remove the wheel.

    Open slot torque "arm"

I have been wondering about making rear hub motor wheels easier to remove. My current idea is a custom made SS torque plate with an open slot corresponding to the dropout slot (a bit longer of course). Thicker than the average torque arm but with a reserve machined out for the axle nut and slot...

    Lightweight Trekking Bike Build

No. EN 15194 says no. Unless you had only one controller and could only use one at a time. I can't think of a special need use where that would be of interest.

Another little gem on ES Forum.

Gulp... So a HL case full of 30Q has just become an option for my future build, $100 shipped is a steal!

    Lightweight Trekking Bike Build

Thanks. That is kind of confirming my thoughts. After reading your advice on other threads I have come to the conclusion that 2 hub motor wheels is the ideal solution for my problem: if I go north (to visit sons) it is flat so the tiny motors would be fine, if I go south I need more power for...

I had to share this. It's priceless.

I was going to be coy and say "stuff"... PS is a range of products that are supposed to showcase good Scandinavian design I guess. I sleep on a PS sofa/bed and I must say that I haven't had a bad back since I bought it.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

They need to. Pain is the road that leads to humble pie. The US is going down the same road. Strange coincidence or not?

    Why Derailleurs gears?

The Nexus 8 has much better press. It would mean changing your shifter but as you're already going to have to do that I would go to 8 gears and the SunRace 11-40 extended range cassette. All the gears an e-bike would ever need. If there are any Shimano engineers Googling this site: We need a 7...
