    Advice needed- Bafang BBS01B 250w

    +540 W on assistance level 5... I have seen a peak of just over 600 W with the battery hot off the charger - 41.5 V x 15.11 amps

    New BBS01B 250W conversion

I have seen one of those Cubes with the HL battery mounted to the bottle mounts, leaves enough room to get the leg through. Otherwise a couple of aluminium plates long enough to clamp the battery holder to the carrier will work.

    Advice needed- Bafang BBS01B 250w

In my case the GSM didn't have a working speed sensor for a while so never reached the 25 km/h cutoff speed... The top speed (GPS) was reached in second from top gear which at that time must have been 46:13 and assistance level 5. Changing up to top gear (46:11) did not increase top...

Battery life v Weight and Terrain

The other day I crossed the bridge (flat as a pancake) into a stiff westerly and was topping out at 20 km/h in assistance level 5 of 5! At the moment I am working very hard at dividing my frontal area by 2 :)

Commuter bike Wisper 905 Torque or Oxygen MTB.....probably

:) you are in fine form tonight Dan! For the grip you might try Big Bens when you change Jerrymond. I am extremely satisfied with their grip. They are showing signs of wear (well the front one) now after 1750 km so I am thinking that the compound is sticky and tender and that is the reason...

How to quick repair a puncture?

Tyres and tubes were made of different rubber back in those days it seems, when a tyre started getting brittle it was time to change. Nowadays the tread wears out before the sides go hard. I had a period where instead of patching my sons tubes I'd just buy a new one because often they went when...

    Bafang BBS01 Spider questions

I am lucky, I live in a civilised country :) I have tried to strike a balance between a bike that looks good enough to me and yet not worth stealing... It is always locked and left in places where the cost/profit ratio is at the bike thief's disadvantage. I would buy again and try not to fry...

    Bafang BBS01 Spider questions

Yes. You may need to modify the reach of your derailleur, I know I have to. My derailleur at the mo is a glove in the pannier. When I arrive at the bottom of a mountain pass I stop and grab the chain and put it on the 32 tooth chainwheel, stop at the top and...:)

Steel Rear Cassette and removal tool

You had a good one. The Sunrace 11-40 8 speed steel cassette is as good as they get. Buy two or three and change the cassette and chain when your BBSHD is done with them is my only advice. Look at Tour de France riders, they get a new chain and cassette on each stage, with the BBSHD you are now...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm a happy man: Monty Python's Flying Circus is back on the telly! The actors have changed but they are just as ridiculous...

    Hub and CD together?

"8-speed Shimano gears" "Prowheel alloy crankset" Size matters Woosh... +15% gradients require a 32 tooth chainwheel and 11-34 cassette. Without a motor you would use 26:34. That chainwheel isn't going to be any good for top speed on the flat... My test hill was climbed with much effort on my...

    Which Kit?

Has anyone had a bent or broken axle with an 8 speed freewheel on a hub motor? I keep reading about that happening with freewheels in non motor wheels. Do you have the numbers for the added width of a 8 speed d8veh?

    Hub and CD together?

I would add to the list above: Gearing? What climbing speed are you aiming for? Most bikes will climb 15%+ if they are in the right gear and you aren't expecting more than 10-12 km/h

Frame lock with chain here. Add D lock with cable when I am further afield for the front wheel.

That is a HUGE triangle! Bigly HUUUUGE! Measure then go look for a HL battery case, check the dimensions, it should fit in there.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Would you take a lump sum of £40.15 a year? That would be kind of you because we are up to our necks in paper work at the mo... :D Oh by the way the benefit of being in the EU is still being calculated when we get it worked out we will send you an invoice for that. HMRC

    Hub and CD together?

Two wheel drive. The new xiongda motor would be an ideal candidate only adding another 1.5 kg. You will have issues with the buttons for changing assistance levels. You don't need 2 x LCD (in fact you don't even need one if you have a good memory) and a (1) hidden wire brake switch for the...
