Bad experience with Kalkhoff Agattu XXL

A full pause is best, you can hear when the change has been made. My Bosch motor has a soft start too, but I'm sure anyone with mechanical sympathy would be okay with a deralliuer style motor.

Bad experience with Kalkhoff Agattu XXL

As far as I'm aware they still don't make a tensioner for horizontal drop-outs. Therefore the tab that fits into the vertical drop-out needs removing before it will work. I managed to cut mine off with a hacksaw. Mine also fits snugly in the drop out area with the edge of the tensioner snug up...

Bad experience with Kalkhoff Agattu XXL

KTM crank drive hub geared bikes suffer the exact same issue. KTM know about it but like to give the impression all is fine and they know best. Like Wissy I'm past wasting my time engaging with KTM UK, as all they want to do is to try and look like they care. The sad fact is that once they've...

First Ebike Purchase review: ex demo KTM

KTM bikes are good, but as you've found out very badly let down by the attitude of FLi.

    Massive momentum ;-)

A better comparison would be with his unassisted time up the hill. I'd have thought some of these powerful bikes must be in excess of three times faster than unassisted.

    Massive momentum ;-)

I'd also avoid your chosen crank-drive and go with a hub motor. Don't worry about needing low gears either. Whilst not a direct comparison my 250w Bosch bike goes up hills at twice the speed I go up hills on a entry level racing bike, and time and again on this forum the Bosch motor for hub...

Haibike SL29 pedals spinning no chain movement

Just spotted this thread. I hadn't realised there is potential issue with the freewheel in the motor.

    Strava Electric Bike Club

I've just bagged 25 KOM's today, it has been flagged despite me saying it will be off the leader board within a day, no big deal really.

    Bosch bearings

This is a good article on the reasons for the smaller sprocket, 1000 readings a second seems rather excessive. https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/blog/post/so-whats-different-on-the-new-2014-bosch-ebike-system/

That's odd, why would you place a large order with Bosch.

    Strava Electric Bike Club

I'm fairly sure it wouldn't. I once asked them for an assisted category, but they haven't added one. Listing rides as work out or something else takes them off the leader board, but only running and cycling rack up miles in the total mileage odometer. All that's no problem if your e-bike rides...

You can also see them on German ebay for around £300.

I can of course replace the drive-side bearing for anyone, as long as no other damage has been caused inside the unit.

    Strava Electric Bike Club

You can leave the competitive bit out if that's not your thing, and just enjoy the sharing of routes and the social side. Checking the leader boards after a ride to see if the person you waved at whilst out does Strava also allows you to get to know the local riders.

    Bosch bearings

Cheers. I'd like to think that someone else can come on and confirm the bearing/shaft size. The input from shops that sell and stock Bosch motors has been notable by its absence. The shaft should be measurable on the non drive side by the alloy spacer bush, as the shaft protrudes from the housing.

    Tissington trail on a Birdy

At least you got to do the trail the best way, uphill out, and downhill back to Ashbourne. The Monsal trail is great now, it's a bit like a motorway at weekends when the sun shines though. I like the High Peak trail, but that has a couple of steep inclines, it should be easy on an e-bike...

    Bosch bearings

Yes if I could have got just one for normal prices I'd have bought one. But I'm fairly confident it will be too big. If I'd been 100% sure it was the right one I'd have bought a load of them.

    Strava Electric Bike Club

Yes unfortunately when you make the ride private it will take the mileage of that ride off the total mileage on the club page. I have a good relationship with most of the top riders locally, and they all know that if I pinch a KOM off them, I'm only borrowing it off them for the day. Even...

    Bosch bearings

I've had the bearing off. and 21.2 is in the right ball-park, I have a cheap digital vernier that is flashing on and off even with a new battery. I'll just add that the bearing place I went to first, was convinced a 20 mm bearing would fit, it was miles off, he then sent me a 22 mm bearing...

    Bosch bearings

Wissy has Fli summed up. I started this thread to ask a simple question Col. You chose to wade in and make the issue with yourselves public. Your sole aim was to discredit me and try to make Fli look good and give the impression that you care. That's all you do make bluster and wind, and if you...
