    Strava Electric Bike Club

I shall look forward to seeing how you go on the Giant (hopefully that's the bike?) you can now list your e-bike rides as e-bike, so no more hassle with other users and the leaderboard. The stats also finally at long last count up in clubs like this too.

    Hydraulic Brakes

A friend has those on a new Giant gravel bike, they're okay when her six stone son rides it, but aren't very good for a heavier rider. I have some Shimano pads to try now. Hoping that will help. Disappointing given the good reviews they get normally.

    London E-bike owners needed!

Thanks, seems strange to me, but they must have their reasons.

    London E-bike owners needed!

Why only London cyclists? and why can't you have an online survey?

Perhaps a broken cog inside then.

Gear ratios Nexus Inter 8 hub

Is this going in an assisted bike? you can get away with some pretty high gearing and still get up the hills in 1st with some assistance. I can pedal to 38 mph on mine.

New to the world of Pedelecs

I shall look forward to your review :) I'd have preferred more than 3 power settings, although they may have judged them perfectly. Also when things wear out on the motor you should be able to get spares, whereas with the Bosch no motor spares are available.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Not e-bike related, but seeing that this is the muddy thread, this young man found some mud just before the new year. Our two fared much better. https://www.flickr.com/photos/1710-photography/24043326246/in/album-72157660638175824/

    NuVinci

My experience with Chinese made motorcycle parts is a few years out of date, most of what I bought suffered from material quality issues, and no parts back up. I don't think I'd gamble on one just yet.

Not true, it's 2.25 times rider power, so still a significant boost. top specs http://www.ebikeportal.com/bosch-ebike-system-2015

Hung for a sheep or lamb.....

I think you're completely misunderstanding what a lot of riders want. They're not wanting lots of assistance, just some assistance at higher speeds with the hope of a reasonable range.

Is it a Pedelec or an e-bike?

I guess I could roll with electrically assisted bicycle/bike, the other two would probably require an explanation. I suppose all would understand if you defined the subject in discussion on this thread as legal electric bikes and illegal electric bikes.

Is it a Pedelec or an e-bike?

I wonder what percentage of customers have even heard the term pedelec? most will know them as e-bikes I'd have thought.

Seeking a budget bike for a hilly commute

I could do that day in day out on my bike, half an hour each way.

    Derestricted Impulse 2 experiences

I'm lighter, I could flatten one in around 12 miles in cold weather, it's very hilly here in the Peak District.
