    New Gtech ebike

Yes, it's an average, but over a reasonable distance it's a good approximation. My point is that if you use less than about 6wh/mile you don't need (or get much benefit from) an assisted bike, so companies that use a figure if 3.4wh/mile are using figures that are totally unrealistic. Sent...

    New Gtech ebike

These range claims are utter rubbish, and any company that claims them should be treated with great suspicion. You can easily get more than 190km out of any battery. Just switch it off. Simple. You should use a figure of 12wh/mile to compare machines, making 400wh a 33 mile bike. You might...

    Buying a second hand bike

Probably best. If you can get cycle to work scheme then you can have it on interest free credit and get it tax free, saving a few hundred ££'s and negating the boring saving up bit. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

    Buying a second hand bike

There are ways to test the battery capacity, but no way to know how much life is left before it fails completely. Most li-ion are good for about 800 charge cycles, or 3 years. LifeP04 lasts longer, possibly 2000 cycles/10 years, but is a bit bigger/heavier. I don't know what the battery tech...

    Buying a second hand bike

I would assume the battery is end of life. A replacement will be in the order of £300-500. Sorry to burst the bubble, but even if it was free it'd be borderline. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

Hello Pedelec community a future E-bike rental place would like your input.

If I were you I'd have a word with either Woosh or Kudos, both of which offer good value, sturdy bikes. With your purchasing power of 10-12 units you should be able to negotiate a good discount/support I would expect 3 years or 800 cycles from batteries. There's no point in limiting the charge...

    Where's my watts gone?

Charging is not 100% efficient. Your results show that charging your battery is about 80% efficient, which is about right. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

    cyclamatic problems

Post a pic on here of your controller so we can help. If I recall correctly the cyclamatic is a 24v Brushless motor, so any brushless controller should work. Do you have a digital multi meter? If not you should get one from Screwfix/toolstation or eBay for about £5. Sent from my HTC 10 using...

A few years back we bought a robot vacuum cleaner. In the supplies manual it stated that 'it sometimes get block from hairy lump rubbish'. In our houshold to this day anything that needs to be cleaned off, hoovered up or wiped away is known as hairy lump rubbish. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

    Locating batteries.

If you insist on throwing money away on SLA's, then you need to make sure you get proper high drain ones. Many are designed for light/standby use. If you get those they will either not work, or not work for long. The best you can hope for with SLA is 200 charge cycles. Get the wrong batteries...
