Rim & spokes: UK source, recommendations?

You could always buy from Germany - https://www.ginkgo-veloteile.de/ginkgoshop/en/Wheel-Accessories/Spokes-and-Nipples/Sapim-Strong-black-to-310-mm-J-bend.html From 186 to 310 mm

How much power would i theoretically need?

The easy way to get high speed on flat roads is the correct gearing and a crank drive - I get 45 km/h tops from a "250 W" GSM so a 350 or 500 W BBS02 should be enough. I have an all up bike + rider weight of just a bit over 100 kg. http://bikecalculator.com/index.html This says you need about...

Do you think my bike can handle this journey?

I don't quite understand your second question. Are you asking how I know how many Wh I use? I am using LiPo batteries which means I can read from the charger how many mAh I put back in at each charge. I have a watt meter between the battery and the controller which shows total Wh used so I can...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Reality check time: You are negotiating your way out of a strong position you once held (before Thatcher). The EU needs you but not for your money.

    17Ah vs 11 Ah battety

Yes more Ah is better than less Ah. But more constant discharge Amps to the controller is what you are feeling - a 17 Ah battery made with 10 A constant discharge cells (Samsung 35E) will feel better than an 11 Ah battery made from 4.4 A constant discharge cells (Samsung 22F) if they are both 5P10S.

Do you think my bike can handle this journey?

Since I have the trike without a motor I have gotten a little stronger. The other day I went shopping and got 5.82 Wh/km = 9.36 Wh/mi which for your journey would be 1210 Wh or so. That is 2 x 17 Ah 36v batteries fully charged. I pedal a bit but am over 60 yrs old...

Conditioning a new battery - what to *really* expect in range

No it will balance then stop charging. It is best to put it on the charger before you go out, don't leave it fully charged for a long time, leave it at about 38.5v. Once you know how long it takes to charge from 38.5v to 42v you can put it on a timer. You should charge even Li-ion batteries in...

Riding postion is it significantly important?

No that is the rear suspension AZUB Tricon I have the T-Tris entry level model with no suspension. I would love a pinion gearbox on the front though and a Q100H in the rear wheel... With Big Bens I haven't felt the need for rear suspension and I have been some pretty rough places, at speed...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

From The Guardian: The UK’s economy has been systematically under performing on almost every key measure. We have lower investment than nearly all our major competitors. Rubbee X Introduction

I am a strong cyclist, d8veh is too so we could probably get 16 km from a charge but most riders would probably get more like 12 or so km. I do have a use for an on tyre friction drive but not at that price - a reverse "gear" for a vélomobile. There are other ways of doing it but an on tyre...

    48v systems

Sorry d8veh I am not looking for an argument just throwing ideas around. I like thinking outside the box and as we have little chance of changing EN15194 trying to find a solution that works within the directive. This is what I am dreaming about in the near future...
