e-Moblity - should bike shops be looking at the wider e-transport picture?

So in Craig's context e-bikes account for around 0.01% of combined car and bicycle sales.

e-Moblity - should bike shops be looking at the wider e-transport picture?

So that's 1% of car sales. and bikes at 20% of bicycle sales? So I wonder what the real percentage of e-bike sales is 0.003% (plucked from fresh air) perhaps ?

FREE 24 hour E Bike Trial in West Cumbria

I'd come and have a go, however I hear the traffic is very bad over there and I'd hate to get stuck in it. On a serious note I didn't realise it was so busy there, guess the hint is Sellafield.

Need help choosing a bike for 19 mile commute

As standard they assist to around 16 mph, so a x2 gadget gives assistance to around 32 mph, then you have the x3 gadgets that assist to 48 mph. No idea who this is  looks like they have an old style Bosch motor

Bike Purchase Advice - 22 Mile (one way) Commute

It was the fork that looked like fitting mudguards would be an issue. I think the rear drop-outs slide with two screws on each rear stay, but I'm not sure.

    Gazelle or Kalkhoff

Yes I remember the Halfway, had a short ride on one and didn't like it at all, very flexible. and yes the Gocycle fits in with the concept very well, forgot about it.

    Gazelle or Kalkhoff

Mike Burrows designed a GRP bike with an oil-filled chain case, I don't think it ever reached production, I think this was one of the concepts.

I think the Cube is the wrong bike for you, have you worked out how to fit mudguards for example? You need a hybrid as a minimum, MTB is going the wrong way for your high daily mileage, and I think you'll be searching out road routes to work as well.

On the flip-side could we say that Bosch, Shimano and Yamaha don't give full access to all the amp hours in your battery? given they shut down sooner than perhaps other batteries do to extend their life? So could the reverse be true in some cases? Chinese batteries have more capacity for their...

If you go for hub gears like the Nexus/Alfine 8 I personally would avoid the ones where chain adjustment is only done by moving the wheel in the horizontal drop outs, especially in an alloy frame. With the power they can be hard on chains, although fitting a better chain helps. I bought just...

A few months away though. I've not managed to find a decent image of the gen 3 motor to see how big the drive-side bearing is, I do hope Bosch have learnt from their last two versions.

I think that's a bit lacking in gear range for the intended usage. Tredz are also lacking in giving important information, like battery capacity, I'm going to guess it is 500 wh with it having 500 in the name, but I can't see it on that page.

It was a summers shopping ride to Macc for a friend. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to do it regularly in winter with possibly dark mornings and nights.

Bike Purchase Advice - 22 Mile (one way) Commute

The only time I've ever had a pannier pop off was on the Middlewood way, I think there's a concrete farm road going over which stands a little proud, it had my spare battery in too, luckily no damage to the battery. It gets pretty wet and muddy down there around the A6 doesn't it ?
