    Installing the GSM

Would be OK to shorten the main cable between the motor and lcd? I assume I can cut it then resolder it together? This would have the added advantage of allowing me to thread it through some spare cable supports on my frame.

Will bafang brake sensor work with GSM kit?

Thought I might try sugru, not sure if it'll be hard enough when set, but easy to use.

Bike suitable for child seat and able to tackle a hill?

How about a trailer. We had a croozer for 1, they're a lot safer in an accident than seats as thay have a full harness impact bars and a roll cage. Plus keep the weather out, there were times we were soaked and a small (dry) boy was laughing at us. Cars always gave us a really wide berth too.

I've dismantled one of the originals, it's a pressure switch. Need to figure out a way to use it.

Will bafang brake sensor work with GSM kit?

i've install the brake levers that came with my GSM, but don't really like the look of them. I've seen that bafang sell a sensor that can be retrofitted to existing levers. Would the plug that goes to the lcd be the same? The GSM one is red with two pins.

    Installing the GSM

Battery connection question. There are two wires coming from the battery mount, blue and brown. The wires coming from the motor power cable are red and black. It looks like it's blue to black and red to brown, is this correct? Also how do I make these wire weatherproof?

Excellent thanks. The 60nm came from the instruction from the woosh website. They dont really mention the crank bolts, I'll make sure they're tight!

    Installing the GSM

Thanks for the reply I've got both of those, bottom bracket shouldn't be an issue. But don't have adjustable pliers. Are there any other option for tightening the m33, how crucial is the 60Nm?

    Installing the GSM

My GSM kit is arriving tomorrow and I just want to make sure I have all the tools ready. I have a torque wrench for the m33 nut, can it be tightened with a normal socket set.

I've ordered the GSM motor with a 10ah battery. Excited about fitting it, just hope the battery is sufficient for the Lake District hills!

    A little confused!

Thanks, that's great to know it works in practice. Have you tried it without the throttle?

    A little confused!

Thanks for the replies. I emailed Andy at whoosh. He's ever so helpful. He said the GSM can be used without the throttle. I forgot to ask if it would work with only one break cut off. My gears and breaks are integrated so I figured as I'm losing the front gears anyway I could just change one over.

    A little confused!

i have just read about the change in the law. Am I correct in thinking that throttles are no longer legal unless restricted to 6kmh. I was about to buy the GSM mid drive with 15ah battery. I've read that this won't work without the throttle connected. I could get the bafung bbs01, its a bit more...

    Gsm vs bbs01

I'm a novice to bike conversion, would the GSM be as straight forward to fit as the Bbs01, the videos on YouTube make it look straight forward? Quality wise am I likely to regret getting the GSM and would I be better saving a bit more for the bbs01? Do all batteries have the same fitting, or do...
