    Battery calculation

That's really helpful thanks. It's a 2A charger. I noticed it had gone green after 3 hours (wasn't watching that closely). So that's a max of 6Ah back into the battery. It's a 10Ah battery, so the indicator showing 2 out of 5 bars was fairly representative. I'm still learning what it can do...

    Gsm vs bbs01

Update on my GSM: it's really impressed me today. I cycled from Skelwith Bridge over to Grasmere (Lake District) on a road that has a 25% gradient at times. It coped fantastically. The total trip was around 10 miles with lots of up and down. Battery was down to 2/5 bars by the end.

    Battery calculation

Hi, Someone posted in a thread a calculation to work out how much of the battery had been used. It had something to do with timing how long it took to recharge, but I can't find it. Can anyone help me? Thanks

    Gsm vs bbs01

Is 10% allowed? According to my catseye computer 15mph on GSM display is only actually 13mph!

    Gsm vs bbs01

Will play with the throttle next time, will increasing the max speed make it illegal on the road and will it hurt the battery?

    Gsm vs bbs01

I've been testing mine today. It seems to cut out when it goes above 25kmh as expected, but then it doesn't start again until you stop pedalling and the speed drops below 25kmh. If the speed drops below 25kmh but I'm still pedalling its doesn't kick in again. Has anyone else found this?

    Help with soldering

Got it to work! Had to use larger pieces of heat shrink that would go over the larger cable! But it's all working. I think I just needed to keep going with the soldering iron. It's a few years since I last used one. I also wonder if the room was too cold earlier and the wire was cooling too...

    Help with soldering

im having real problems soldering the wires together. I have a 40w soldering iron that melts the solder. However when I try and heat the joint to draw in the solder and fix the joint it won't melt. The wires are getting shorter with each attempt. Can anyone suggest somewhere I could take it to...

    Excellent, thanks.

    'Plate'

Am I correct in thinking to make a conversion road legal it needs a 'plate' with certain details on it. As a self installer can I put a sticky label on it, if so which details does it need?

Thanks for the tip, reviews all really good. Ordered a set.

    Tools

Thanks, it's knowing which bits on eBay are ok. I've had cheap tool sets before that were poorly sized. Just want a basic set of tools that can be relied on. Don't mind shelling out if I only have to do it once.

    Tools

I want to get a set of tools just for bike maintanance (mainly so I can actually find them when I want them). To start with I intend to buy a set of hex wrenches (L shaped), crank puller, cable cutters, screwdrivers, then add to it as I need the tools for specific jobs. Is it worth buying park...

New GSM kit fitted but will not kick in on hills ?

Hmm my battery is only connected by the original push connectors, then taped. I was testing before I soldered. But maybe the connection is causing the issues? I assumed the battery connection was OK as the display hadn't cut out and it's powered by the battery. Should add I've been real...

New GSM kit fitted but will not kick in on hills ?

Can I ask what the connection issue was that led to the empty battery indicator? This was he first fault that I cured with mine. So far I've only plugged it all together.

New GSM kit fitted but will not kick in on hills ?

My GSM cut out today. It was all running fine when suddenly the battery flashed empty. I turned it off and on and it started to work (battery depleted by 1 bar) but kept cutting out. Each time if I turned it on and off it came back. I was towing my son so didn't appreciate it cutting out. I've...

Will bafang brake sensor work with GSM kit?

Do think these would be OK with the GSM kit?

Will bafang brake sensor work with GSM kit?

How will you do it? The switch that comes with the levers is a pressure switch?

Will bafang brake sensor work with GSM kit?

I've only got vbrakes, I was told that the motor sometimes doesn't cut out instantly, so I've just installed one cut out on the rear brake. The levers supplied are very basic with little adjustment. So ideally like to up grade. Once I've ridden it a bit more I may feel more confident to remove...

How do I stop the battery rattling?

Would wrapping it in neoprene work? Or would it get too hot in the summer?
