    Cheap avoid or ok?

I want a cheap conversion for the school run. 6 mile round trip. I was looking at ordering something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254630141528?hash=item3b49239e58:g:o~YAAOSwdQdgXVOX Along with a low capacity battery...

    Altenative to swytch

Hi, Can anyone recommend a low weight, low resistance front hub kit? We have two bikes to convert, one with 26" wheel and one with 27.5" wheel. I've ordered a swytch kit but then I thought I might be able to achieve the same for less. I've found some fairly light batteries on ebay. These are low...

What type of tool would I need to undo this nut? There are 4 little indentations.

    Pedals seized with mid-drive

Sorry I should have been more specific, the crank won’t rotate, the pedals themselves will rotate. Thanks

    Pedals seized with mid-drive

My bike has been stuck at my holiday home through lock down. I got it out at the weekend to find the pedals stuck. It’s a Marin Stinson with a GSM mid drive conversion. I’m going to try and remove everything today. Is there anything specific I should look for? The motor is fine and turns the...

    Lightweight motors

I remember reading a little while ago about some really light weight Hub motors from China. I think they were around 1kg. I’m keen to try a really light weight conversion can anyone comment on the longevity of these motors, could they be paired with a Hoverboard battery (36V 4.4mAh), small...

Xiongda YTW-06 front hub motor into Norco Indie 3

Where would the suggested place be for the controller. I’m now thinking of converting my husbands bike too with a rear hub and one of these small batteries. He’s not sure what sort of range he needs, so I like the idea of being able to add a second one later. The bike would be a specialized hard...

Xiongda YTW-06 front hub motor into Norco Indie 3

Did you build the battery yourself? I have a spare bag like that and would love to use it for a battery, not sure I’m quite brave enough to self build a battery!

    Battery type and location

i need to fit a battery to the rear rack. As you can see from the link the bike has very high bottle mounting points. https://www.marinbikes.com/gb/bike-archive/bikes/2017-stinson-step-thru Would it be crazy to try and mount a bottle battery to the rear rack? I would like the battery to be...

    Looking for conversion kit

I’m very happy with my kit from woosh, excellent support from them from this forum. I only had basic knowledge of bike mechanics when I fitted it, it was fairly straight forward. That was a GSM mid drive kit. It’s been very reliable over the last two years.

    Is a removeable motor possible?

Can you recommend a good supplier of a rack battery? Min 10ah?

    Is a removeable motor possible?

Can the controller be hidden in the battery box (rack battery)? My current mid drive has an inbuild controller. The xiondga looks like it may be a safer buy than the keyde, but would leave me with a controller to mount somewhere. The bike is a Marin Stinson step through, so not many good...

    Is a removeable motor possible?

I’m hoping it’s all fairly plug and play, with maybe a bit of cable shortening needed?

    Is a removeable motor possible?

The price is good. Forgot to get them to add a speed sensor, but they can do brake sensors instead of levers. They’ve quoted for a sensor and a sensorless controller, which one would be best?

    Is a removeable motor possible?

Just seen your thread on the YTW-06. Was it expensive to ship to the UK? Looks a nice little unit.

    Is a removeable motor possible?

Thanks for the replies. I’m now thinking a front hub would probably be the easiest option as I could change the wheel back over. I’m thinking I will need to build the wheel (or have it built) as it’s 27.5”. I want it to be road legal so a 250w motor. There seem to be loads on eBay but all...
