    Number Two

A quick update on the ongoing adventures of Number Two. I have been running the 2 x 6S packs and 44.4v on the GSM with the 36v controller - hot off charger voltage 49.8v just squeezes under the 50v limit of the cap in the controller. - cadence is much better, estimated 100-110 rpm - motor runs...

    Ebike conversion companies?

This is the bit I can't get a handle on. If you raise the Amps by 33% too then surely everything moves? Extra motor speed is a waste if you are going to go slow... And of course once you get to around 35-40 km/h air resistance will mean you are using over 500 W just to maintain that speed so...

I had a big enough problem knowing all kiwis and we were only about 3 million when I left, I feel your pain!

    kT-LCD 3 settings help please

OK so that means you are running at 12 Amps peak. I did that for a while as an experiment but as it didn't improve range I stopped.

    My first DIY e-bike

A 36v "250" W GSM will do 45-47 km/h on a flat road unrestricted, add a 48v battery it will probably climb hills at 35 km/h (I'll report back when I get the controller sorted).

    Recumbant trike query

From Woosh, I already have it on my pedelec. I am running it at 44.4v at the moment (49.8v hot off the charger) with a 36v controller which is having some heat issues. When (if...) I sort my financial problems I will upgrade the controller and move the motor to the trike. Just about every 36v...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I have a good friend in Vermont and he tells me hair raising stories about his neighbours and their guns "just in case the blacks come to take all our stuff, rape our children, we will be ready...". I don't know if you have ever been to Vermont but I have and I don't remember seeing a single...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

As we inch towards 30 thousand posts time to look back and I maintain that brexit is and always was about xenophobia. The UK, Hungary, Poland, northern Italy, Austria, etc all in the same boat - fear of others. My news feed said earlier that the EU had received over 570 thousand refugees, the...

Most probably the 48v 20 A KT sine wave controller from pswpower. The battery will probably be a 12S 44.4v as that seems to be almost perfect cadence wise, I will try at 48v before commiting however.

    First build spec

Yes, that would be my option, d8veh has built some very light rides. You could possibly get away with adding just over 3 kg I think he has built a bike that weighs 11 kg or so. Also the small water bottle batteries are in the right place on the frame for weight distribution. And it never rains...

    Recumbant trike query

I think a Bosch torque sensor motor on a trike is a bad idea which is why I would choose a PAS only version of the bafang which has a cadence about equivalent to my natural cadence. Also why I will be using a GSM with external controller on my trike so that I have "complete" control over...
