This is the bit I can't get a handle on. If you raise the Amps by 33% too then surely everything moves? Extra motor speed is a waste if you are going to go slow... And of course once you get to around 35-40 km/h air resistance will mean you are using over 500 W just to maintain that speed so...

Borrow a bike with the same motor is about the only way I guess.

A 36v "250" W GSM will do 45-47 km/h on a flat road unrestricted, add a 48v battery it will probably climb hills at 35 km/h (I'll report back when I get the controller sorted).

From Woosh, I already have it on my pedelec. I am running it at 44.4v at the moment (49.8v hot off the charger) with a 36v controller which is having some heat issues. When (if...) I sort my financial problems I will upgrade the controller and move the motor to the trike. Just about every 36v...

Yes, that would be my option, d8veh has built some very light rides. You could possibly get away with adding just over 3 kg I think he has built a bike that weighs 11 kg or so. Also the small water bottle batteries are in the right place on the frame for weight distribution. And it never rains...
