    Orbea Gain

But it is a hub motor so it won't be good for much more than the legal limit I am guessing. If you are going to make a light bike assisted to 25 km/h that is where you will want your motor to be the most efficient.

    apple crap

How about my 18 year old Sony? At the moment it is running a version of Ubuntu. As you see it has WiFi ;)This is a fully kitted out one with 196 Mb RAM and I added a tiny SSD a while back which has me thinking where is the 12 Gb hard drive now??? o_O My Macs ran for years and years too but...

Returning my ebike to Decathlon tonight and here's why

I got rid of the problems with the bottom bracket on my Rockrider build by bunging in heaps of epoxy paste to hold the lock ring together :D Lasted for 3600 km! After yesterdays accident I am pretty sure I will be changing the headset on the Riverside which has been groaning for quite a while...

    Recumbant trike query

I have locking levers too and they are a real pain to adjust. I think I am going to install a parking disk brake on the back and the new hydraulic SA drum brake kit from Gingko on the front (@ 99€ why not?). You just need to discipline yourself to turn assistance down to 0 when you are not...

    Recumbant trike query

Do you have a parking brake on the rear? You can mount a HWBS (hidden wire brake sensor) on mechanical brakes without touching the standard levers. On a trike I would be inclined to mount one if my feet are clipped in. As soon as you move your feet the motor will kick in unless you remember to...

Battery question for bbshd and chainring question

No, the 52v battery came about because of the BBSHD. A 48v battery is 54.6 hot off the charger and a 14S 52v is 58.8, the capacitor in the BBSHD controller can handle 63v. http://www.bikecalc.com/speed_at_cadence Plug in some chainring sizes your tyre size etc. Your motor cadence (loaded) is...

    Number Two

Well wouldn't you know! No sooner I write an update then wham! "Accident"... My fault, riding too fast, thinking about something other than concentrating on my riding, leaned into a blind corner and someone was coming the other way  For some reason the front wheel blocked up (lots of metal...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

From my newsfeed: "NYT: Lynchings Around the World are Linked To Facebook Posts" "Many Amazon Warehouse Workers are on Food Stamps" - "in 2017 Amazon received $1.2 billion in state and local subsidies, while effectively paying no federal income tax." There clearly is a problem...

Yep that is the one. I was having the same problem as you and (touching wood) so far so good. The Avid seems to be easier to set up.

I replaced my Tektro with an Avid Digit 5, world of difference! If you don't need a brake sensor go for the Magura.

    First build spec

I think for you the weight gain of the Q100 will be more important than the power gain provided by the Q128. How about: Q100H (or Q100C with spacers) 48V11.6Ah Case-08 Bottle Panasonic Battery Pack with internal 18 Amp controller You get all the bits, you don't need to use the brake levers...
