What does a bit of extra weight on an ebike actually do?

https://www.gribble.org/cycling/power_v_speed.html The calculator I promised. Frontal area is typically measured in metres squared. A typical cyclist presents a frontal area of 0.3 to 0.6 metres squared depending on position. Frontal areas of an average cyclist riding in different positions...

    Car Jump starter

I'm shocked that in the 21st century you still need one of those! About 18 months ago SWMO's car was having issues starting during the winter - solution a new battery, the other one was knackered...

    Careers vengeance hard work pedalling!

I think it is either/or: - a psychological effect - motor needs running in for about 100 km - clutch stuck in engaged position (you would hear the noise) Your bike will freewheel fine because it is heavy and we have all (hub motor riders) been through the learning stage where we have felt to...

Has anyone compared assistance of Dongled Bosch CX to derestricted Oxygen

Comfort is very important. Both my pedelecs were free bikes that someone gave me and I converted with kits, the first one was very uncomfortable pushing me to build the second faster than I would have. I have a rear hub and a mid-drive, a little bit because I wanted to try both. If I had to...

Commuting on roads on FS and HT

Is the chain attached to the front wheel? There is some power loss in front suspension but the total power loss of a FS bike is greater than a hard tail. Lockout is there for riding on the smooth or on the road, is't it supposed to unlock automatically if you hit a big bump? Balloon tyres and...

Can i dump the crappy Brake Levers

Because they are evil... :p - they want better consumer protection - they want worker protection - they want environmental protection - ... For all of the above they propose directives that can or may not be made into law by the sovereign nations that make up the EU. When a sovereign nation...

Orbea Road or All-Road - Which One?

I love the Big Bens but I hate the weight. When they are chewed up I will go tubeless and am expecting to save a kg or more too. Schwalbe are apparently going to have 20" G-Ones for the end of the year...

Sunrace make this 10 speed cassette: 11-12-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-34 which would work well on most roads, especially at high speeds with lots of fine grain ratios at the top end.

83.6% Anti-Dumping Tariff on Chinese E-bike. Where the Market will go?

Apparently Intersport was having problems keeping up with demand. I have seen this up close and it isn't too bad, just needs a decent hydraulic front brake and a NCX/favorite saddle:

83.6% Anti-Dumping Tariff on Chinese E-bike. Where the Market will go?

The EU would work better if we shut down lobbying offices in Brussels! We are copying the US model and it will lead to the same end result... I am pretty sure that tax on tax is illegal if you check the appropriate sites?

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

UK Decathlon maybe, the San Sebastian Decathlon has excellent mechanics who are very friendly and patient with my level of Spanish. I wasn't sure so I looked and I think assembly of B'twin pedelecs has been re-localised to Lille, France as well as the more expensive road bike range. Here it is...

Commuting on roads on FS and HT

http://www.bikecalc.com/ is your friend! My problem is on the high end - I can't use 48:11! Can't get up to comfortable cadence and as I'm at about 50 km/h when I have the occasion to use it things tend to get a little messy... I have come to the conclusion that the ideal 8 speed cassette would...

What does a bit of extra weight on an ebike actually do?

You don't need to look very hard for your extra dead weight: - hub gears, the Rohloff is pretty efficient when climbing steep gradients, you won't need to care which gear you are in when you stop because you can change down when you want, weighs a ton, requires stronger rims and tyres - double...

Which hub motor for my handbike (Q100H?)

Controller - a KT sine wave 15 or 17 amp and your choice of KT LCD. Is cadence an important thing for you? In that case the LCD-6 has a cadence display. I don't think Woosh does those you might have to order from the PSPpower store.

Which hub motor for my handbike (Q100H?)

The one Woosh recommended is good, I have the freewheel version of that, his is the cassette version (disclaimer: I didn't buy it from them). Otherwise the Q100C is a light motor for cassettes. You would just need the motor and a wheel builder would lace it into your rim, you re-use the...
