I know folk are going to kill me on this but it's my experience so there you are
I have a front 350w BPM in the shed and at 48v I'll take the xf07 all day long. I used that BPM for years with various voltages and controllers / amps and it never died. But I get double the mileage on the 07 with...
Hi folks
A chap I work with has been asking for my help in choosing a bike. I had identified a couple of Woosh folders that would have been ideal.....but he left it so long Woosh have stopped selling folders!
I'd be grateful for the forums thoughts give the following requurments
1. Small...
Wow, 17. 5ah empty in 22.5miles ? The torque must be immense !
I have just finished a 35 mile ride over the South Downs and used , maybe , half of my 17. 5ah battery. However , I tend to keep it drawing around 400w and yours must pull 1000 (guess)
Thanks for the reply, you have had more than your fair share of issues with bafang I feel !
Funny , I have had way more issues with hubs but then I tend to mistreat them rather badly!
I ha e one of the one on enduro helmets and a decathlon version too. They look almost identical but the decalthon has a marginally longer visor
I just checked and decathlon stopped selling them though
Still , the on one is a nice helmet and often on a silly priced deal
I agree with this 100% and stopped using them a good few years back. Personally I advocate schwalbe smart sams for mixed riding by which I mean proper off road but also tarmac. They have a centre line but knobby edges. I use them on my go anywhere hardtail . I recently bought 2.1 in error when...
Hey Nealh , may I ask why do this mod ?
Is it case of why climb a mountain ?! Cos it's there !
Or is there a particular gain from using a non oem spec controller ?
I know you have had loads of issues with bbs controllers. Perhaps. that ? (I've really not had this. I blew one bbs02 controller...
I've no idea about getting things classified whatsoever
That said I have a small cheap geared hub motor (36v) that I can run with a 48v battery . That'll do 23/24 mph and has amazing torque for size (xf07 by mxus )
I also have a bbso2b (36v version ) . One can play with gears and controller...
I do agree with vfr on this
30mph really is going some and will kill any pack fast
Plus your weight and hills climbing as stated make this harder still on the motor. Dd are utterly hopless at hill climbing too compared to geared - much better a flat speed
. To be honest, especially if...
Not so long ago 48v wasn't really practicle due to the mah available on 18650 cells. These days it's no problem with decent 3000 to 3500 mah cells being readily available
All my bikes run on 36v but I'd go 48v in the future too
Vfr400 clearly knows this controller and given you some v useful info.
If you discover the controller is restricting the speed then a new controller may give to a littlemore speed.
I had a bafang 250 w hub from 8fun.uk that did 15 mph reducing to 10 as battery depeleted.
A ku65 controller...
Oh and deffo take it down to 22a. Soon as I paired the original controller with a really good cell pack (mj1) the controller blew at 25a
It was fine with a rubbish cell pack which just sagged under load
I’d add I have a 25a Brighton ebikes version . 42t bling ring and 16t sprocket on the alfine hub
It has been paired with a 15a controller from a bbs01 at the moment (I broke the original)
I programmed to 18a
It will easily do the speed you need derestriced on 18 or 25a. But the Torque...
Or add a hub kit to any solid hybrid for that money. A decent spec Evans cycles pinnacle hybrid are freely available 2nd. Mostly by folks who bought them on ride to work scheme and never did.
And add a woosh kit. I’ve been surprised by the torque on the xf07 which is tiny. The xf08 is the...
