    Normal battery behaviour

On one of my bikes I get worried when it says 50 % as I know that really means I'm on my reserve 20 % The LCD says 100% for ages and then drops fast

    Normal battery behaviour

Nope ! Give it a it od practice. You'll quickly learn how your bike, battery and indicators behave. They are are way more vague than a petrol gauge imho

    Rad Runner - useful bike.

A fair point there, for me it was the single speed. I worry about that at 250 but , as we know, all depends on the motor capability rather than the stamp

    Normal battery behaviour

Sounds pretty good to me ! That's a fair bit of climbing and a good distance . Especially if you are, in your own words, very heavy And yes , lithium tend to start at 4.2v per cell then quickly go to 4.0v gli g down to about 3.4v slowly over their discharge Then very rapidly go lower to...

Home made mighty mini battery pack

I've just taken delivery of 20 samsung 30q cells. My intention is to make a mini 36v pack . Originally I had a bottle pack in mind but then I thought - why ? Hard to fit into the space and actually will look worse on my bike. So an easier and cleaner behind the post pack is in mind. Just a...

    Is her motor toast?

Only way is loook as vfr said. From my own experience I had some of the teeth on the nylon internal gears shear / melt in an old bafang motor. It made a "sort of rhythmic mechanical noise" until I replaced the gears.

    Rad Runner - useful bike.

I saw this on New Atlas (new tech sort of website) I really liked it . There is a similar looking bike in brighton at the moment . Forget the brand but it was 5 grand for the same electrics and similar style. A d actually practical ! New atlas has some words from their CEO. He has it nailed...

    Sqeaking brakes

I'll start with I suspect you of wilfully misunderstanding to be honest.. However let's do this just the once eh old chap? " not see any put downs," Oh well, if that is your attitude to the sentence and post as a whole then I can only presume that it logically follows that you DID see...

    carrying bags on handle bars

One of the worst accidents I've ever had on a bike was due to shipping bag on handlebar. Never again. Panniers or a backpack ever since. I was doing maybe 12 mph in a shirt and trousers on a lunch break. Past two tall buildings and the wind between them blew the bag and a plastic item into...

    Sqeaking brakes

Andy ; with respect your posts are often unusual I am an investigator by trade (not police though ) so I am a very evidence based person. Show me evidence to prove your narrative and I'm sold. I'm open minded and well aware received wisdom is just that. Engineers and physicists etc discover...

Chain ring change size on Shimano steps

This is also a nice cheap change. I have done it myself and there are a few good you tube walkthrough video if you need them (as I did )

    Sqeaking brakes

I have decent shimano discs and hydro brakes And I still find that variable ride conditions and breaks between rides can cause this on an intermittent basis

Wheel bending to left under braking, won't align back again

I had a similar issue with cheap ebay titanium qr skewers Went back to standard but decent shimnao skewers and the issue went away Not the same issue exactly but worth a mention I think

    Replacement battery.

I also think a bga / Jimmy recall is the way to go. Your case is so huge due to old school ceels that you could choose between a huge capacity battery or lower weight

Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0 - bike outside in rain without a battery - will it cause damage?

Warranty wise I don't know. I'd have thought if you get a failure through water ingress and you have used the bike reasonably it would be covered Just don't leave it uncovered in a monsoon or cycle through a river

Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0 - bike outside in rain without a battery - will it cause damage?

That's a nice and pricey bike. I'm not sure I'd want to leave that chained up outside hotels full stop. But that's a different question Ebikes don't like standing in rain . I'd get a decent quality rain cover for sure And some massive locks !
