    Brexit, for once some facts.

Thanks for the concern all, Still no idea how I caught this damn thing. I really am a boring old fart who doesn't generally do pubs, meals out and such. (Nothing more sad than "Billy No mates" sitting in a restaurant at a table in the corner in their own). ;) I'm out a lot on my bike but...

Well, I'm living (Currently) proof that double Jabbed isn't the golden bullet. I'm widowed, live alone, Haven't been out of the house for a few weeks other than shopping and visiting my wife's grave to place flowers and guess what.. Yep, you are ahead of me. I have been diagnosed with Covid 19...

I'll drive it home, let me check the "Zap Map" for suitable charging points enroute. :D TTFN John.

After a (Mercifully) short ownership of a Reliant Regal many years ago I think I'll pass on that one. TTFN John.

Staying on the "Electric Dream".. What about these. You would be hard pushed to buy a decent Golf Cart with weather protection for £1,300. I wonder what the import duty, registration etc would add to the price and how they would fair with safety tests.. But for families who have Chelsea...

Not Brexit but the thread has gone a bit OT from time to time. Impressive claim from Volvo. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-9750385/Volvo-says-electric-cars-621-mile-ranges-2030.html TTFN John.

I remember my Fiat X19 from the 70's, you could hear the petrol sloshing about in the tank which was behind the 2 seats and a piece of cardboard trim, But hey, different times. :D TTFN John.

    handlebar cams

Not sure if it's exactly what you are looking for but I recently bought an Akaso V50X and it seems a decent camera. Plenty of features, Time Lapse, Slow Motion, Decent image stabilisation, 20mp Still camera and more mounting brackets than I know what to do with. Plus if you buy from Amazon and...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I would be surprised if anyone takes the opinion seriously of someone who felt it was ok to drive hundreds of miles during a national lockdown and also thinks the best way to test your eyesight is to drive a car. TTFN John.

    Charging phone from 5v wiring

Following jimriley's recommendation I bought one of those "Dual USB power charging adapters" Wired into the battery terminals on my Vengeance controller. Easy bit of DIY and I have to say it works great. :) Going to get another one for my Bandit. Big thumbs up. Thanks for the link Jim. TTFN John.

    Vulcan E bike owner ( I know)

I'm probably misinterpreting the picture but that Cradle/Battery looks like the type fitted to the earlier Vengeance models? (If not just ignore me). If so, battery removal without damaging anything even with no key isn't difficult. Once done you can strip the lock housing down, remove the lock...

    Best bicycle navigation software?

Yes the reviews of OutdoorActive do make for depressing reading, I've not had any of the issues mentioned about losing synced Vr routes or not recording tracks correctly etc, all of mine synced perfectly and all features such as 3D fly through work. After years of Vr use I did find the...

    Best bicycle navigation software?

To be honest I have no idea. :( I have it loaded on my phone and also my tablet for times when I'm away as it's easier to plan routes. The plus point for me over Komoot is all my routes and tracks from Vr are synced to OA so I haven't lost anything. Vr still send me emails with suggested routes...

    Best bicycle navigation software?

Since the winding down of Viewranger I'm playing around with Komoot and Outdooractive although lockdown has restricted the evaluation so far. Both seem excellent on local routes, planning to try them out on some routes up in Scotland once the world hopefully returns to some form of normality...

"Super light electric bikes could soon be a reality..." ??

You can't be serious Flecc. Are you really suggesting people should actually look where they are going? Don't you realise they might miss something amongst all the world shattering facebook and Whatsapp conversations they are following. :) TTFN John.

    Charging phone from 5v wiring

While you are correct (This is the method I use). But be prepared to take capacity claims with a "Very large" pinch of salt. I have a quite old no brand unit rated at 12,000mah which by my best guess in use is nearer 5,000mah I also have a "Freeloader Sixer" rated at 6,000mah which will easily...

It's worth also remembering that we pay for the Royal presence. So why should they keep the trappings of Royalty having made it clear they wanted out. I have no feelings either way as far as the Monarchy is concerned, but I do find Harry and Megans's actions somewhat baffling. He talks about...

    Roundabout grumble about car drivers

Being a bit of an aviation enthusiast.... If anyone fancies some bedtime reading on the subject I have this on my hard drive which outlines the whole sorry saga from start to finish. There was a lot more to the chain of events than is generally reported. TTFN John.
