Route / Trail Apps Do you use them?

Nothing wrong with maps, I usually use the OS map as default on my display. Only differences are mine doesn't get wet when it rains and it's easier read and pack away in strong winds. (Mind you I'm stuffed if my phone fails). ;) I still have a road atlas in the car in case of SatNav failures. :)...

Route / Trail Apps Do you use them?

Hi All, Wasn't sure which forum category but I guess this is as good as any. Before I sadly lost my wife a few years ago we used to spend our holidays walking and cycling around the local area learning local history etc. Our weapon of choice for directions, Route logging etc was the...

    Carrera vengeance ebyke mk2

Sorry, can't help with your problem unfortunately (I have an early 2018 Vengeance). But I completely agree about the battery/controller housing. Why the hell they didn't put the controller at the other end of the cradle therefore putting the controller at the highest point is beyond me. TTFN John.

    Is the Yadea V7 Legal?

Ah ok, yes, I just found the act I was referring to above and it does say "For a disqualification to be possible under this provision, you don’t have to hold a driving licence – you can be disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence. ". Good info, Thanks. :) TTFN John.

    Is the Yadea V7 Legal?

Well, not quite. Yes correct, you can't receive any points on your licence. But strangely you can be banned from driving. Apparently this can be handled under the Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 which gives the courts the power to ban someone from driving for any offence, driving or...

    Black.

Although black at night is never going to be a good choice I don't think it's a colour issue. I think the disadvantage cyclists have is that car drivers generally look in the wrong place at junctions/traffic islands. Drivers tend to focus on the area behind where a slower moving vehicle...

    Integrated controllers in hub motors...

As a layman the problem I have with combining parts into a single housing is the that most people will have to replace perfectly serviceable (and working) components due to the failure of a single part. Most don't have the knowledge and are at the mercy of retailers. I remember the Amstrad...

POLL: Roughly how much did/will you spend on last/next last ebike (incl. conversion kit if applicable)?

I bought a 2nd hand Vengeance e-spec a few years ago as my 1st E-Bike. just to see if E-Biking was for me Lots of horror stories around but mine has been faultless. I also bought a 2nd one as a non runner for spares but an easy fix so now I have 2. One set up for daily road use and the orginal...

    Hello

As others have said, so many unanswered questions. If you plan on just riding around forest tracks and lanes/roads I would have no worries suggesting a "Halfords" special. If you want a bit more then "Whoosh" (Forum member and quick to help) would be ideal. I have an old Halford's 2018 Carrera...

Yet another turn any bike into an E-bike motor

Kinda looks like an attempt to bring one of these into the 21st century. I wonder how efficient it is once tyres get muddy/wet That kind of unsprung weight hanging out the front can't be good. TTFN John.

Online dating sites are for rookies. Just go to Facebook Marketplace and search for wedding dresses. It'll show you recently divorced females in your area and you can filter by size. :D I was so disappointed when I found out Screwfix wasn't a dating agency... TTFN John.

Basic question with hopefully a simple answer

Ah, so am I back to where I thought I was when I asked the original question? (Yes I can simply plug a larger capacity [Same Voltage] battery into the existing power leads from the controller). I had planned to remove the original battery cradle and therefore I knew I would have to re locate...

Basic question with hopefully a simple answer

Thanks for the replies, Hi vfr, The motor is the Bafang BFSXW02. Although as you say nothing wrong with it and it does exactly what I need, so no immediate plans to change it. As I mentioned above I have 2 bikes (Both in full working order). So already have a spare battery it's just the hassle...

Basic question with hopefully a simple answer

That's what I love about this forum. Real world answers. I had not heard of TopbikeKit. Just been basing my opinions on Kirby, Dillenger and Yose. I needs to see what Brexit does to prices, but it's another string to my Bow. I've shied away from the cheap Ebay products as I prefer to spend a bit...
