Will Throttles be Throttled By The EU?

When we voted to join it was presented as a loose consortium of Countries for trade purposes ie Common Market , since then it has developed or hopes to develop into a Common Europe . Our Politicians in Opposition were going to put the brakes on the whole bandwagon .However once in Government...

Will Throttles be Throttled By The EU?

Our Civil Servants make genuine mistakes , they make deliberate ones ? New test introduced for Motorcycles several years ago to achieve 31 mph on the swerve test ? We spent £70 million on off road centres `cause we could only do 30 mph on our roads . After loads of accidents we have now altered...

Will Throttles be Throttled By The EU?

My front hub powered Batribike Folder has a little kick to get going but there is a time lag . I use the throttle only to walk alongside one stupendous hill here in Barry .I defy any E bike to climb the hill on which Bryn lives in the `Gavin and Stacey` Series without being reported to the RSPOf...

    Woosh Bikes - Sirocco

Well done Derek for taking the plunge and then reporting on it . If the Company is responsive and the machine is good , a lot of people starting out and not wishing to pay the earth will certainly be interested . A pity we can`t encourage Woosh to come on the Pedelecs site ! The Elios did look...

    Gepida lifetime frame guarantee

That frame guarantee Penny reminds me of my first new bike which I bought for £12 in 1950 .My Father paid half and myself the other £6 . It was a fixed wheel `Hercules` , distinguished at the time by a square rubber surround rear reflector .The main feature was that it had a 55 year guarantee ...

'Stylish' hill-climbing electric folder for around a 1000??

Opaz as nobody has answered , I will . I am not familiar with the machines mentioned , but look at the Folder by Batribike . I have the lower powered 26V 8Ah Quartz SE and am very pleased with it . The later model has a 36V 10 Ah set up , with the motor now in the back wheel and the battery on...

    Improvement in fitness & stamina.

Yes Ebikes double or even treble your riding for pleasure range . I find that my 1982 Classic Suzuki `Roadie` Moped is doing less mileage these days as my Batribike Folder has taken over some of the trips .

    149mph electric bike

My legs didn`t stop spinning Bob on my Batribike Folder today . I did 15.24 miles in 95 minutes , half with the wind and half against it , average of 10.2 mph . To maintain 14 - 15 mph I`d have to be on maximum assist with my legs going around so fast it would hurt . After watching the News...

    149mph electric bike

If they round up the figure of 99.6 mph , that`s 100 mph , so give `em the money Barney . Another year to wait then for the £10,000 prize .

    Hydraulic disk brakes

That`s grossly over the top for a 15 mph or even 20 mph Ebike .That`s more stopping power than I have on the front disc of my 100 mph 1982 Suzuki GT 250 X7 with 29 HP . I would point out that I haven`t been past 70 mph on it though !

    Opinion Please

What about this one for £369 including free delivery . Look at Woosh and it`s a Folder called the Mono .It has 20 in wheels and suspension near the hinge .

new BH Neo range available in June 2011

The trouble with looking pretty is that maintenance and accessibility is poor . Think of the sleek faired- in Pacific steam locos of the Southern Railway in the 1950`s .They soon removed the fancy tinwork and went back to practicality . They called them re-built afterwards .

Article: Nissan trials LEAF electric bikes as 'courtesy vehicles'

As discussed in the Forum about the poor take-up of cycling and the reasons, which include traffic dangers because of few dedicated cycle lanes , Leaf owners are more likely to take their chances by walking from Servicing Appointments . Why when you are saving the Planet , would you want to be...

Britons fails to get on bikes

If you have been Cycling or Motorcycling into Middle Age , you are used to traffic being in close proximity , non - cycling families used to driving would find two wheels scary ..Where I live in the Vale of Glamorgan the provision for cyclists is pathetic and the traffic pretty heavy on some of...

    My new bikes (almost)

A quick look at the Mk 3 and it seems to offer the same as the Batribike Quartz Folder , but £360 cheaper .

    My new bikes (almost)

A S seem to meet your criteria being local and cheapish . Any problems and you can be quickly on their premises . They have a folding 26 in . which interested one of the Forum Members . It will be interesting to hear your comments on them if you go ahead with your purchase .

    Hamerite friend or foe

Definitely a friend .I used Hammerite Satin black to touch in parts of the frame on my 1982 Suzuki X7 Motorcycle. I used a half inch brush and it blended so well you can`t tell the difference . Keep the paint thin and apply quickly .

    Woosh Bikes - Sirocco

Bit of a mystery Kirstin , it did seem strange that the same bike was being sold by two Companies with the same Name , only an `h` to tell them apart . Best to deal with the Southend people who have Premises and hire them out . Their machines seem well built , specified and the prices are good ...

i'm seeing loads of electric bikes now!

We ought to be seeing lots of Ebikes judging by the websites that tell you `out of stock `. Batribike recently had only 2 of 8 models in stock , A.S Bikes of Coventry are off for a few weeks as they have no bikes to sell . Woosh have run out of Scirrocos but Tonaros seem to be supplying everyone...

What I would really really like .......

Look at the A S Bikes of Coventry site Lynda , they have a folder with 26 inch wheels . The Electro Bike Plus is £740 and is 36V of unstated Ah .
