    need info

The reason that I haven't posted anything further is two reasons:- 1) I do not know your bike at all, except from the pictures you posted 2) I was hoping for you that someone here had firsthand knowledge - but apparently they don't. Are you an experienced DIYer? If the answer is yes, then simply...

    need info

I like your words, but you forgot that many motors have also got a mechanical "STOP", that helps prevent the motor axle from spinning when using a high torque setting. With any powerful motor is a serious must. Both of my bikes have one. I have also seen the result on a friends bike after he...

Is the Activeline Plus motor waterproof?

Are you insured for any damage to the bike? I am guessing, but a house and contents would surely cover it.... If yes, simply ask the original seller for a full service, to make sure everything is dried out. If you believe that water has got in to the motor, or the controller, remove the battery...

Bosch CX Motor - Drivetrain Improvements

Interesting post, many thanks. Mainly due to some of the points you mentioned, chain wear is a prime example, is why I have avoided this type of electric bike with the middle motor in the crank area. Both of my bikes have had rear wheel motors and on those, chain wear is reduced in comparison...

    Cube Kathmandu manual: useless.

For the screeching, you might want to turn the disk around, many are made and mounted the wrong way round. IMHO most are wrongly installed!! I have not seen any information up to now, that mentions this!! Just do the front one first and see if that helps. It worked for me! Or send me a picture...

ce:g3m20211-1592-16 - Wires of Pedelec for swap to switch?

Not as far as I am aware. The sensor must see a "rotation" and a "direction", hard to simulate with a switch! As the PAS sensor (I assume you mean), a same/similar one can be bought quite cheaply on say ebay or a good bike shop. I have never had problems with this part, but several people here...

    On-Guard Brute 8001 Bike Lock - thoughts?

I am not in a position to know all those locks and have also opened them in some way, so I cannot give you the answer you wish. I would be surprised if anyone here has firsthand information on them all and breaking them. My take is different, I see a good quality (hopefully) bike chain lock as...

    Help! Raleigh Velo

That sounds like that the battery is below the level at which it allowed to accept a charge from a normal charger. Depending upon the nominal voltage, there is a set limit as to how low the battery's voltage is allowed to go, before charging cannot take place! A bike shop may be able to...

Kalkhoff Agattu Belt Drive Chainring Loose-Which Tool to use ?

I myself have not got a clue if such a tool is readily available, but I am sure that someone here does. Try and measure the nut for size, as close as you can. I wish you luck. Andy

    brake pads

You do need to reverse the middles, that is true of a few disks that I have had. All without any over heating or glazing. I do not myself know enough to say whether that is always true, always....I am not a bike shop owner.... It is eminently possible that even the designers do not understand...

    brake pads

All the rotors shown are actually directional, though many do not understand why. The upper hot one is being shown (if correctly mounted) of the left hand side of the disk, out to the left of the bike... The two from Hope, we are being shown both from the right hand or opposite side. I am sure...

    brake pads

I believe that certain types of perforation on bike disks, although apparently still a tiny bit better at braking in the wet, can be noisy and severely reduce Pad life, at least according to a friend of mine, who changed them out PDQ after purchase....... "You pays your money and you makes your...

    brake pads

I certainly have never had that problem with my brakes! Not on any bike that I have owned in over 60 years of biking! Including two different e-bikes! Has anyone else here? And my present disk brakes are by far not the most expensive ones around, even though I ride roads and forest tracks over...

    Is it just me?

You are not alone! Questions without pictures, or only very unclear pictures, with no arrows pointing to the problem area(s). I never had a crystal ball........which is what many here appear to think we have! Though, in a way its "par for the course" I suspect, as I as an old engineer, will...

    brake pads

In the link I posted, there were RESIN versions included for less than 5 UK Pounds a set. What do you pay normally? I always keep two things at home with regard to my bike brakes (also resin), at least one new set of new pads (but when I buy, I always order at least 2 sets, so I may occasionally...

    brake pads

I have different pads, but I always buy well in advance from the far east on ebay, and they are so cheap, I simply don't care..... Also, the ones I buy are environmentally safe... Mine are called BB5 if I remember correctly. Once I had found that out, it was easy to find them on ebay. I hope this...

    Chain slipping?

Put a marking across the connection, something like maybe white paint and see if there is any movement. Replacing the chain ring and not cleaning the two mating surfaces, maybe old oil is allowing some slip, or not tightening up the fixings, is where I would look if the white mark shows...
