Since 50-now-you-see-em-now-you-don't-Cycles did a moonlit flit I have no supplier support. May they go bust.*
I need to do a few jobs at the 1700 mile stage, such as trying to cure the dreadful screeching that both brakes constantly emit when braking hard. Cleaning the discs was ineffective so I assume that the pads are glazed and require attention. As someone who has worked on earth moving equipment and, currently, vintage watches, I assume that routine maintenance shouldn't present insuperable difficulties however it always makes sense to pay initial attention to the manual. Unfortunately in the case of this bike it's a complete disgrace.
Firstly, although it has become standard practice, a manual that contains versions in half a dozen or more languages is not a user-friendly document.
Added to this, a manual that combines information about half a dozen variants of a product - interleaving the relevant sections alongside each other - makes for even greater user hostility.
Now throw in a small format incorporating badly executed and/or printed murky photographs and Cube has managed to create a shocking muddle.
I don't know how much Cube have managed to save by incorporating this approach, a format which, in the case of less complicated products or a multi language manual containing clear reproductions related to a SINGLE SPECIFIC PRODUCT, might be acceptable. As it is, given that some of the content relates to safety, the manual is shockingly bad.
