    ALWAYS REPORT SCUM DRIVERS

It didn't happen! But you prompted me to go looking, and I found this. Perhaps we will get it after all...

    Review Tannus Armour Inserts

I went the other way and fitted Marathon Plus, eventually, after sitting on them for a year. Discount, and previous not worn out... I was worried by all the reports of hard to fit, but on my 23mm wide 700c rims I was relieved to find they were no more difficult than any other tyre. No...

Has anybody got direct experience of LiFePO4 batteries on ebikes?

My impression is that weight penalty may be less than it used to be. +50% instead of +100%. But I might be wrong.

    ALWAYS REPORT SCUM DRIVERS

You are absolutely right. Problem in Scotland is we do not have Operation Snap to easily make reports, and on a long day involving some main road sections, it is rare to go even a mile without an incident! I have to be selective for now, but one day I may well publish a greatest (almost) hits...

    ALWAYS REPORT SCUM DRIVERS

It's the subject of a likely dangerous driving charge, so not publishing images or video yet. Like @Saracen, it was a car plus caravan overtake, with oncoming traffic, in a 40mph limit with overtaking vehicle doing 40. My trailer means I got enough space, but the oncoming car was squeezed to...

    ALWAYS REPORT SCUM DRIVERS

My substantial trailer is behind me, with slightly degraded floppy GuerniCar deflector, and they still overtook! The driver, as well as apologetic, was a low confidence driver, and had succumbed to substantial pressure to overtake from the blue car rammed up their tailgate. I was apoplectic...

    ALWAYS REPORT SCUM DRIVERS

I didn't report this one, because the driver immediately stopped, knew they were in the wrong and apologised. The car didn't hit me: I hit the car, it was in easy reach in front of my handlebars! https://gopro.com/v/wbX3e97yQe8PQ

    ALWAYS REPORT SCUM DRIVERS

Has he hit your mirror? (What's the red thing?) Ok got that one- helmet cam! I use a bar cam. Be careful publishing plate, can affect prosecution.

    For Sale Bargains

If the discount includes the two batteries it does sound pretty good. Brake upgrade to what the Momentum or Tern use would be around £200.

    For Sale Bargains

Good value with Good value with the discount, one weak point is brakes. Competitors like Momentum PakYak and Tern GSD have more powerful 4 piston calipers, and special wider calipers for thicker pads for cargo use up to 200kg. MT500 are a long way behind . Without the discount PakYak is much...

    Increasing the charge rate.

The CC-CV is likely automatic for generic, two wire chargers: The first part, CC, constant current, charges at the charger's current output until voltage reaches maximum. The second part, CV, constant voltage, relies on the charger output voltage being properly regulated to 42V in the case of...

Charging a battery on the bike and on a vehicle - 12V charger?

Depending on your approach to modifying the motor home, it might be possible to mount a container on the inside of one of the external access panels for socket and charger, if there is one close enough to the bike, and then just a hole for the charger output cable to the bike.

    newbie First E-bike

£2k or thereabouts seems expensive for a hub motor 20" wheel folder, even with torque sensor, so beware eovolt and estarli. Pvy z20 plus is a fat bike, no good for long range. Ado mentions an app. I would avoid any bike where the app is essential to operation: unnecessary lock-in. Consider...

Charging a battery on the bike and on a vehicle - 12V charger?

Don't mess with the cable from charger to bike. On mid-drives like Bosch etc it is not just power cables, but comms too. What's needed is (1) an external weatherproof mains socket from your inverter, and (2) a secure place for the charger, and (3) enough weather protection for the bike charging...

Charging a battery on the bike and on a vehicle - 12V charger?

Just run a high efficiency inverter from your 'house' battery, plug your bike charger into that, and add more solar to your motorhome roof. Charge the bike during daylight hours, when sun can be used, rather than at night, which would deplete your house battery quite quickly. All the...

    Battery Cell Autopsy?

I would not assume the cells are the root cause without carrying out a low current charge/discharge test. Say 0.5A, either monitored by data logger, or manually if you don't have one. Just voltage readings every 10 minutes or so, throughout charge and discharge. If the cells pass that test...

    How close

The immediate deterrent is a horizontal stick with a flag on the end, which reminds drivers that space matters to a cyclist. Camera and reporting is the next level, and in many UK police areas, this is now very simple via Operation Snap...
