thanks homemoz that seems reasonable on hills. i want to peddle but not sweat on the hills. some people on this forum prefer a throttle over pedal sensor but not all such bikes appear to be good to ride without throttle. your dahon sounds a way to get fit and have power for when you need it into...

    Bionx kit in the UK

airnimal had a joey commute with bionx fitted featured in a recent edition of velovision magazine. it was praised. however, i cannot find that bike for sale via the internet.and having seen the cost of the battery i am not surprised. £300 is bad enough.

    argos for your powabyke

quite right fishing paul to get mass appeal electric bikes need reliability and affordable batteries. on the surface forking out around £300 for a battery is going to seem a fortune to the predominantly car driving public who can get a carrera mountain bike from halfords for half that amount...

hi homemoz good to hear of your positive experience with ch white and the mu. which i think is a particularly striking dahon. what i appreciate the most about the folding option is the ability to bring the bike into the secure indoors at work. do you carry luggage as well as the battery on...

    greener miles

i agree harryb alot of disincentive is around safety. modern cars with quiet engines and smooth acceleration with abs, airbags, etc i am sure has caused a deterioration in driving standards. on my scooter i had the experience of dangerous overtakes (too close to me, too long in the oncoming...

Panasonic Powered Calvin, Nein or Ja?

with panasonic units appearing across a range of bikes maybe the image of electric bicycles as a more reliable investment could take hold in a way that the more variable chinese derived bikes has not. of course there have been exceptions. i find the powerbyke research that owners use their...

    the practical pedal

the practical pedal is a free magazine you can read on the internet. they are running a feature on an electric bike they have put together to tackle commuting. aiming at 25mph top speed (obviously with rider input) and 40 mile range. Electric Commuter should be worth checking from time to time...

    Bikebins panniers

apparently jon snow uses them too. yes you could thread a lock through the rubber carrying handle for a brief period in a shop maybe but it would be easy enough to cut through i would think.

    Bikebins panniers

i have the blue ones. they are excellent. easier to pack than a sack like pannier and easier on the shopping. also lockable. each pannier has a unique key.

    an old topic: chain care
