Hi all
I saw these Bikebins hard panniers on Ebay Bikebins Bicycle Pannier - Brand new! on eBay, also Bags, Racks Panniers, Cycling Accessories, Cycling, Sporting Goods (end time 22-Jan-08 09:33:13 GMT)
I bought the black and silver ones, and I can report that they are fab, high quality, tough, and they look great, they are very adjustable so should fit most racks. If you buy some be sure to specify the colour you want, I couldn't find the option when ordering my ones so I sent the vendor an email, and recieved the colour I wanted.

These do look good, and I was about to buy one as I thought they would be lighter than my Altura 20 litre Urban panniers, but on the scales the latter weigh around the same weight, 1.2kgs. Plastic derivatives, compared with synthetic fabrics, are not as light they look.

i have the blue ones. they are excellent. easier to pack than a sack like pannier and easier on the shopping. also lockable. each pannier has a unique key.

I like the idea of these and the locks - do they lock on the bike as well or is that too much to ask for?

They recommend putting the cable of your bike lock through the handle and locking it to the bike that way. I don't know how well the handle is attached to the bin though! No doubt it would discourage casual theft.

They look interesting. I wish I'd seen that earlier. It was only about 7 hours before the post that I ordered some different panniers. Maybe I need to try both. Flexible ones might be good for carry on luggage on airliners and rigid ones could probably be hung on the wall as storage bins when not on the bike.

Apparently David Cameron uses them. Or maybe his driver carries them along behind in his limo.

apparently jon snow uses them too.

yes you could thread a lock through the rubber carrying handle for a brief period in a shop maybe but it would be easy enough to cut through i would think.

On an Agattu?

I like the sound of these a lot. But there must be snags as well as benefits. Has anyone put them on an Agattu? As ever the cost of postage makes web purchases look very different when one adds it all up.

Hi Tony
the two panniers cost me £40.50 with P & P, they arrived in two days, they are advertised as seconds and sold for half price but I cannot see why, my ones look perfect. I think they should fit most carriers as the mounting points at the top can be moved by undoing phillips head screws, and come with spacers to fit different size tubing, the bottom mounting is on a slide. The biggest surprise is the quality, these are definitely not cheap and nasty.
