    Watch out for black ice!

On a good road with other users behaving well the odds are still against a cyclist. my response to icy weather is to leave the bike in the shed. in the future i intend to lift share or get the bus on such days. i remember a few years back in an urban area coming off my vespa just as you...

    What's Missing?

i still maintain that 50 cycles had far greater plaudits than criticism in this forum. i would hope they are able to maintain better communication with their kalkhoff suppliers than they did latterly with ezee which plainly they will not be stocking in the near future. anyway if they are into...

    Nimh Ezee battery

well scott heres hoping the opinions concur with the quality of the products you sell and if the kalkhoffs are anything to go by in this forum you can expect when people get their hands and feet on them you will be laden with positive comments. :)

    Nimh Ezee battery

i think that is an over reaction scott. i would guess that a trawl of the forum would produce more positive than negative comments about 50 cycles. a forum is for a range of opinion and so any company will get the good and the bad comments. i am not sure exactly what forum members are...

    Diamond frame Agattu

I can see where you are coming from. companys should not make commitments they cannot honour. at least your refund was prompt. good luck with the new bike.:)

It Might Be Legal? But Is It Ethical?

if this thread is tedious or boring start a different one and ignore this one until it fizzles out. that would apply to any threads you were not interested in. be it technical threads or consumer specific/supplier specific threads. if we all truely respect eachothers opinions what is the...

It Might Be Legal? But Is It Ethical?

no harm done des :) 50 cycles website/business practice has been discussed a few times on this forum. i was essentially driving at the point that 50 cycles seem to make a rod for their own backs or score own goals if you like by repeatedly fronting their business with a website that has on a...

It Might Be Legal? But Is It Ethical?

that would be a no des. forums are places to express a range of opinions. i think quoting another members post and then reinterpretating to suggest they meant something else entirely is not within the spirit of this forum.my post actually indicates quite clearly that i feel 50 cycles have misled...

It Might Be Legal? But Is It Ethical?

how 50 cycles run their business and website is their concern but you have to be surprised that they are still offering inaccurate/misleading information on their web pages on a regular basis. do they rush to capture market share? are they caught out by rapidly changing specs? is their...

    sheldon brown dies

many cycling websites are reporting the death of sheldon brown. a champion of cycling and a great source of knowledge. i am sure many of us have used his web pages. he will undoubtedly be missed.

    Review of the Kalkhoff Agattu

getting the thread back on track to the agattu its two hubs not one and the question probably centres around the pdi and how these two hubs got through. having said that i have voted with my feet and ordered a pro connect from you and second franks comments re recognition of your 30 day return...

    Review of the Kalkhoff Agattu

a previous member posted that on receipt of the agattu the nexus hub was faulty and was sent a new wheel/hub by 50 cycles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Well it is still a mystery what the problem was but a new wheel sent by lloyd at...

    how many reliable miles?

based on your replies it seems that with sound intial design and good protection from the elements the electric parts of the bicycle can rack up 5-20.000 or so reliable ish miles. which for most people i guess will be more than enough and see them through the main goals of ownership.:)

Torq Died on the way to work

i had a vespa t5 that was extremely tempermental in heavy rain. once broken down i sprayed wd40 in the appropriate electrical areas and was able to restart. always disappointing to breakdown on a new machine, i am hoping its just a temporary glitch for you :)

    how many reliable miles?

unreliable electric parts that cause a breakdown that significantly lengthens journey time. your torq harryb sounds reliable enough.

Need Help To Derestrict Ezee Torq

if the kalkhoff bikes sell i would think 50 cycles will reduce the ezee range. i wouldnt be that surprised if they didnt stock ezee at all in a years time.

    how many reliable miles?

i am not the luckiest with cars but have managed 60,000 from new on two occassions (vauxhall nova/ford fiesta)with no breakdowns of any kind. just regular servicing and tyre/exhaust replacement. by comparison what about electric bikes? what is a realistic expectation? and differences...

    Battery fire!

do most people charge in garage/shed rather than in the house? is it really not fully safe to go to bed with say a kalkhoff or ezee battery charging?
