thanks for the info. i raised the rear end today. this didnt help much :s if at all :( just read your post TREX. By rasing the rear end am i right in understanding i reduced my trail? and your saying i should go for more trail? i can lower the rear again and probably go up 10mm on the front...

    rake angle vs handling

yep. crown races fitted either end. As i said though theres no play and all is good and turns smooth as butter. heres a pic of the forks before and after. ignore the fact that the first pic has a heightend (more than standard) rear suspension to accomodate the old motor. its the other way...

    rake angle vs handling

ive recently replaced my front forks. this appears to have given me more "rake" i think. as you may of guessed my handling seems a bit foobared hence asking. my symptoms are....it doesnt seem happy going straight. like im riding on the ridge of a roof and it keeps wanting to pull either left...

48v parrallel to 96v series battery switching

i initially plan on getting a 48v lipo and running that. i have plan in mind to get another in future and either have double range or double speed at teh flick of a switch. so far ive got a diagram with 2x 5 pole relays and a switch. automotive relays are to hand and cheap but at 12v and 40A...

not an a grade engineer here. basically im goign to oil fill my hub. i may need to replace the bearings if they leak through. what, if any are the technical terms for the type of bearings id need to be "oil" proof? i.e. doe they have a differnt design type name or designation. thanks in...

    wheel balancing?

sorry if i wasnt clear. i was talking about the possibility rather than the reasons not to bother. im not noticing any unblance under riding conditions so your answers are expected. its only when as i said its losely hung up from my ceiling without me on it to weigh it down and steady it it...

    wheel balancing?

im not talking about spoke adjustment here persay. unless i am unknowlngly more about offsetting an unbalanced wheel with weights as your would a motorbike or car wheel. i get that at normal pushbike speeds and unbalanced wheel is virtually unoticable. but at 20-30mph+ even a gram out of...

    oil cooling info needed please

i used to be an aircon engineer. my oil inlet would more than likley be a schraeder type valve. id remove the internals of the valve for filling with oil. then put them back in and stick my vac pump on the valve. pull a few torr and see if it holds a vacum. if it does gravy :) if it doesnt, i...

    Cable resistance vs amp loss

yeah......my bad guys.... multimeter reads minimum 8 ohms regardless. ended up doing an online calculator http://www.bulkwire.com/wireresistance.asp pretty cool as it gives all amp wire guages. So yeah.... at my length/AWG (around 14AWG) im loosing about 0.176 %. im slightly less...

    Cable resistance vs amp loss

title says it all.....well not all but. this is purely my battery link cables and what power they sap. i have a fair idea of how to calculate this... just wanted to make sure its valid (the internet seems to be overcomplicating the matter) each length of wire between the batteries are around...

    oil cooling info needed please

have read a fair way into the post on ES fair few pages, im have a fair idea of what to do :) jist of it is...... oil works loads better, but can get messy. added drag seems to be more with air cooling less with oil. either way its negligible.especially when compared to gains in safer/cooler...

    oil cooling info needed please

few things i need to run through really. im prefer oil over air cooling as with my pc i went from fans to water cooling and id never go back again. super cool and quiet. i get air cooling is as easy as drilling holes. but as per another thread my hubs limit will be around the 2kw mark with...

    not holding charge

looks like a dead battery. get a technical mate if you have one to poke a multimeter in it and see whats going on. more than likely itll say the voltage and ah rating on the side of the battery. worst comes to worst get a new battery. cable stripers and some crimps and you can make your own...
